XBLA - Puzzle Quest - Now 800pts
Anyone have a lvl 50 when they got the new DLC?
Me. I'm lvl 52 now. As for the story, It consists of Dark Elfs and Ghouls so far and where these ghouls came from. That's as spoiler free as I can go.

I got the expansion mainly for the new quests and achievements. And having already finished it, I'm a little disappointed that it cost 700pts. I'd say it's only worth it if you're starting over with a new job class.
I will say that my character jumped to 58 when I first loaded him up. So I really didn't grind much to hit level 60.

Perhaps it's because I only have a level 42 character but I have not once been able to find anyone to play with online, ranked match or otherwise. It's just a ghost-town. I've tried creating matches and waiting -- no takers. I even tried putting the max level up to 60 the other night. Still no one.

Any of you up to play a round or two? I'd like to at the very least get the achievement :)

Feel free to add me:

I love puzzle quest, but am not that good. I'm not on till at least 11:30 PM est though, but look me up. I'm still trying to decide if I should get the expansion or not.

IIRC the expansion adds ten levels, new monsters, a new continent and tons of new equipment but no further skills (which is a bit disappointing, although I can see how you want to be careful not to upset the balance of the game.) Single player is a lot of fun. Would love to find out if there truly is a mount that will allow you to skip some of the easier battles. I don't find them worth my time, as they still take a few minutes but provide ridiculously nerfed amounts of XP (as in 2-4xp).

That's really my only gripe with the game. You'll be trying to do some far off side quest and there are four scrub monsters en route. Kind of a pain.

Oh, and forging the high end items appears to be 95% based on luck.

I tried searching a few different ways for a Puzzle Quest CAG thread and didn't see one. I'm actually quite surprised if this is truly the case as this i a fantastic (and cheap!) little game.

PS: I'm not good at the game by any means... still learning! I'll add you.

700 msp is still a pretty big chunk for me.... I wish for a sale soon. :) As far as skipping battles I have a level 30+ Griffin and he can skip all but the most high level battles.

Hm.. perhaps because he is a flier?

I'm still a little stunned that there's only one CAG'er who has posted on this thread. But, after my attempts to get a multiplayer session up and runnning I guess maybe not a lot of folks are playing it?

I find it odd, because all of my housemates, even the non-puzzle non-rpg leaning ones love the game. I -would- play with them but they all have realllly low level characters.

Well I think the reason for this is that you're a bit late to the party and most people have probably moved on. I boot the game up from time to time, as I still haven't beaten the last boss, but this is usually the case with XBLA titles unfortunately. I too will not pick up the pricey exp pack and am waiting for a week long sale.

Story of my life. But yea, good point. Man, as much as I love CAG, our search engine SUCKS. How can I search for Puzzle Quest and not find this thread?

I was actually just thinking of getting this game, with the Amazon MP3 promo.

You'd think that, with all of the subscribers, there'd be somebody on Live interested in doing multiplayer for most releases. Puzzle Quest was probably never a hotbed of online activity, but I'd think that you'd be able to find somebody who'd want to play online.

I'm trying to go for the god like item, lol damn I did legendary and I was hoping that was it. Looks like I need better runes, off to find em.

Has this been on sale recently and I missed it? What with Puzzle Quest 2 coming soon and the reviews saying it's on the easy side, I'm wishing I could download the original PQ for 400 points.

Woooo, add another XBLA game to my completed achievement games. Can only do it with arcade games it seems, online achievements hold back all my retail games unfortunately.

The Lord of Plagues was easy but then again I had the STORMHAMMER! Muhaha, seriously awesome item and I see 4 matches in my sleep now.
