Rock of Ages is a complex platformer/action/tower-defense game that blends elements of strategy, rolling, jumping, and racing! Two castles stand opposed, bridged by an uneven, narrow pathway. One is yours, and you're quite fond of it. See how the parapets catch the sunlight ever so stylishly? The other is your enemy's; they're a jerk, and their crappy crenellations are driving down your property values. Also, their castle sucks, justification enough to try and crush it using an enormous rolling stone. Unfortunately, they'll have a chance to plan and build up some security, doing everything they can to derail your razing rock. Get through their defenses and you're one step closer to crushing their unsightly tower (see also: their hopes and dreams). But don't take your turn for granite. Once your turn is over, your opponent's begins...

Just got a review code for this from Atlus, so I'm looking forward to playing it tonight to see what this game is.

It looks it will either being entertaining or just repetitive. I'm not really sure where the tower defense part comes into play. They never seem to show that.

You're placing various obstacles (towers, creatures, catapults, fans, etc.) on your side of the level to mess up your opponent so you can get the edge and break through their base first.

If the controls are tight then the game looks like it could be fun. Several of those videos have a Monty Python vibe to them.

It controls similarly to Super Monkey Ball, though the levels are less like minigolf courses with some platforming and more option paths in them.
Would you recommend?
Not a general recommendation since this seems like the kind of game that won't be for everybody, but if you like what you see in the demo, the full game should be an easy recommendation.

This game really isn't that weird. Control a boulder down a slope, take out as much as you can, and finally crash into a door. The AI is trying to do the same thing to you, so it is essentially a race...

The demo captures the game pretty well IMO.
