Ugh. At least everyone that stockpiled points has them for the 12 days of sales gimmick next month.

Curse you Microsoft! Take my moneys!

(still might bite on Warhammer shooter I guess for 5 bucks)

Man, so much for rebuying games I lost on old account, Microsoft. Cyber Morning probably has Beyond Good and Evil and that other game that was annouced on sale, and I already have BG&E on the PS3. I was at least hoping for a lot these annoying 15 buck games to go half off.
What a shitty sale. And MVC2 is the only good thing on sale today, and it's already outdated due to UMVC3.
MvC3 & UMvC3 outdate Tatsunoku vs. Capcom, since it's the same engine. It's the closest comparison to MvC3 by far.

Honestly, other than being a fighting game with Marvel & Capcom characters, it's nothing alike. Marvel 3 is one of the noob friendliest fighters out there (I play it a lot and love it mind you) while MvC2 is one of the toughest fighters to even get tolerable in. Between links, strict timing and non-universal launchers, it's really 10x harder to play. MvC2 doesn't have A-B-C-S-B-B-H-S and the like as default combos.

There's a reason MvC2 had a hardcore competitive scene for over a decade. It's the happiest of accidents in video game history IMO, just a bunch of reused sprites and shit thrown together that somehow worked (despite MASSIVE character imbalance).

I can't believe I set my alarm to wake up to this... If you watch the Crazy Larry video, he specifically mentions stuff like "and more" but where's the "and more" now? Nowhere. Nothing to see here people...

I think the New Years sale is really whats stands out for me every year. Not Black Friday and not Cyber Monday. Last year both PSN and XBL had sames, I assume they were better because the competition was fiercer.

I haven't bought a single thing and there's like 4 sales running on the dashboard right now, I would get MvC2 but I already have it. Disappointed to say the least. Might just grab RE4 HD or Crysis... or I suppose save for next month.

At least I was right, in thinking there wouldn't be much more added ;)

Anyways, I've bought about 6 games from these sales, 2 today, so I guess I don't quite comprehend all the disappointment from others.

Last years BF > this years, but this years Cyber Monday > Last years. So I think the sales are about the same. Maybe those who are disappointed can mention what they were hoping for this year? Different games? Just better prices?

I think the disappointment stems from the belief that there would be more things on sale than what was already announced.

Oh ok, that makes sense. I was almost positive there wouldn't be more than what Crazy Larry announced, so I guess being in the right frame of mind is letting me enjoy these deals rather than feel disappointed.

Also, just re-watched the Crazy Larry video. He specifically states that there will be FOUR arcade games on sale Monday. Just FYI to people not to expect more on Monday either.

Picked up Kill Team. Pretty happy it went on sale, just wish it would have been PSN. Oh, well. So far spent 400 ms points and $1.50 on Steam, pretty weak.

I might just have to console myself by getting the core Pinball FX 2 add-on to go with the Marvel one.

I would definitely recommend that. I enjoy the core pack more than the Marvel pack, personally.

Every month there are thousands of new xbox owners. These sales really appeal to them...400 points for a game like Super Meat Boy is a steal but since we're big gamers we already have these games. If you looked at the games you'd buy if you had next to nothing then you'd see the value.

Just my two cents.

Kind of sad we only got what we did, especially with MvC2 and Risk being repeats. The others are nice, but at least try to not repeat some of them... (at this point, why not just GIVE Risk Factions to everyone?)

Super Meat Boy isn't a Black Friday sale.

Perhaps Cyber Monday will have something I like. As a 360 owner who primarily plays Arcade games, I pretty much have the best of the best. Discounts on newer stuff like Swarm, Half Minute Hero, Bastion, and From Dust would be welcome.
That's true, but you're still missing the point.
Not really, I haven't seen anyone compain about SMB being on sale. All the hatred is towards the weak black friday offering.

And while I get what you're saying, new customers would benefit just as much from games going on sale that have never had sale prices in the past. Just because it's a new deal for some people doesn't automatically make it cool to put things like Risk on sale a million times and neglect plenty of perfectly good titles that could use the sales and popularity boost that things like DOTW bring in.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. With as little live play that I have anymore these sales are the main reason I keep my gold account. It's the same as paying for a edge card or rewards zone gamer card. I'm paying to get discounts and when that doesn't happen it makes me doubt my subscription to the live service.

GFWL
Bioshock - 400 MSP
Minerva's Den - 400 MSP
Bioshock 2 - 400 MSP
Oh thank you for pointing this out. I been wanting to grab Minerva's Den for a while, and five bucks is a steal. Had to make sure I can use my Steam copy of Bioshock 2 first, since I found out Dead Rising 2's serial key won't work on any other profile. Thankfully no issues there and no need to buy the five buck Bioshock 2 to get a new serial key.

I'm not going to lie. I have Gold for the exact same reason, as silly as that may be. And this year has been very disappointing for me when it comes to sales. Hopefully, they wont drop the ball on the usually great end of the year sale.
I wish they made GoD bioshock 400 points for the xbox.
I glanced at the post and thought that was the deal at first. That would have been sweet.
LAME. What a weak year.
Yeah, really. XBLA is filled with dozens of 3+ year old games that I'd buy in a second if they were discounted. I don't understand what Microsoft has to loose by discounting a bunch of stale 800pt arcade games that nobody buys/plays anymore down to 200-320pts for 1 day.

As I have stated before, IT IS NOT UP TO MICROSOFT TO PUT GAMES ON SALE in the end. They get together with developers/publishers and talk to those companies then see if they can come to an agreement to have a certain game (or games) go on sale for a certain price for a promotion like black friday, deal of the week, etc. Stop blaming microsoft for everything. Go complain to capcom, ubisoft and all those big companies about them not pushing sales on Xbl.

Also, you can always cancel your xbl gold account and get credit of xbl gold monthly codes & sell/trade them away.

Cyber Monday stuff has already been announced. PLEASE don't expect any more. Bastion & From Dust probably wont happen until the end of year sales, and I think Swarm has been on sale before.

Half Minute Hero is due for a sale.

I would love to see publishers wise up and just do price-drops on their old digital content. Retail content gets major price drops within a few weeks after release, and after a year you can find a lot of games for $10-$20. I don't understand why publishers think their digital content is still worth the same price 3 years after release...

Physical inventory gets discounted to move it out and make space for higher priced/better selling product. Virtual goods don't have the same incentive. It's quite likely they've done the math and wouldn't get enough extra sales to make up for the difference in income per sale.

That doesn't mean I'm happy about it. I am a cheap ass too. It's the main reason I don't want games to become download only.
The sense of entitlement in this thread is crazy.
I wouldn't say it has to do with having a sense of entitlement. The pure and simple fact is that Major Nelson trolled us. I held off on a few purchases with the hope that "more" stuff would be on sale for Black Friday.

I mean, have you seen the video? At least there's some truth behind the cake, but not Major Nelson... he just flat-out lied. Not to mention that "special Gold-exclusive sale that will run from November 25th to the 28th"... whatever happened to that?
This is CAG, dude.
Being cheap does not mean being a whiner. We all WANT good deals but we are not entitled to any certain sale. If they do not want to lower their prices then we have the choice not to buy. Complaining about it does not help.

Man, I was really looking forward to this sale, but now I don't know. I had been planning on picking up Stacking if it ever went on sale again, but after reading some of the impressions on here, now I may end up passing. I was pretty "meh" on the demo. I'd like to get something...maybe one of the Pinball sets, or maybe I should save up my limited points for the Year End sale. Ugh. There's nothing that really jumps out at me.

Okay, it's not Microsofts fault then. It still doesn't change my point. It doesn't make sense why companies like Capcom, Ubi, etc aren't dropping prices on 3yo + games that nobody is buying or playing anymore. Just seems like it'd make more sense from a business standpoint to drop prices on some of the very old arcade titles to make more sales on them. I can't imagine that anyone is still buying titles like Street Trace NYC or Beat'n Groovy @ 800pts each.
