XBLA - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time - Now 800pts :whee: - 8/5

After seeing that Shadow Complex is also 15, if both of these get good reviews I'll just pick up a 4k point card and get those and All Fronts. This is a bummer though, 15 bucks has become the standard.
With 4000 point cards being so cheap now, it's not really $15.
It's the same principle though of when console games jumped to 60 dollars. I'm sure as hell not going to pay 60 dollars but it's still all too often over priced.

so should console games be 50 bucks forever? even in 100 years when 50 bucks is equivalent to buying a candy bar?

games have been 50 bucks forever, even back to the genesis days. possibly even the nes days but i can't remember. they even had games over 50 bucks back in the genesis days (strider was 90 bucks, virtua racing was 130 bucks).

so higher prices are inevitable, as production costs go up. they need to make money, last i checked these companies are running a business.

That's... not really the same at all.

Your brain hurts my brain.

Please tell me this includes the original version too!!! If it does, then I'll pick it up. Otherwise I was hoping for a $10 price point.

If the original is in there, then they've got my 1200pts guaranteed. If not then I'm still gonna need some convincing.

Is it true that there is no drop-in/drop-out with the multiplayer, or did I just hear that rumor wrong?

IGN just confirmed that this does NOT include the original version of Turtles in Time.

No buy! At least not at $15. I'll wait for a sale or something in a year or two.

Considering during the 1up preview you couldn't drop in/out during LOCAL play, I doubt you could do that with online play.

What I mean is 800 was fine and cool for everyone (50) until one dude charged 1200 (60) and now it's become pretty much the average. I'm just not a fan, except when it's a game that really pushes what I think of an arcade game (1943)
this thread proves how C CAG really is.
It's going beyond cheapness now though! The new graphics are subjectively altering the game's innate nostalgia factor, and the lack of drop-in/drop-out gameplay fundamentally alters the nature of the game. I can honestly say that those are the real reasons I'm shying away from this. I would have paid 1200 for the original (really!!).

The no original version issue wasn't a dealbreaker for me, although it was disappointing. The fact that there's no drop in/out, though, is really making me lean towards waiting for a sale.

Yeeeeah man... this is the kinda game I would love to leave running in the background at a party, where people could just jump into it and play for a while, die, then go do something else while the main game continues. The lack of LOCAL drop in/out kills that. Oh well at least I've got Rampage on Midway Arcade Treasures.

I think the reason the original version is not included is the same reason they think it's worth $15. It's not just a graphical improvement to the original, it's been completely re-written using a different engine.

It's not just a graphical filter being applied, still isn't worth $15 though IMO.

Saw some videos of this game on gametrailers and I think it is huge graphical improvement over the original. I enjoy the clay look of it. $15 is too pricey for me, I think the game is a bit too simple even for a beat'em up. I'd get it when they offer the 50% off deal.

I wish Sega does something like that. A Streets of Rage 3 with 3D graphics update would be worth it since the fighting is a bit more complex and variety of enemies.

800 points
Totally baseless speculation:

They give us this game for 800 points...

Then a month later, they release "original mode" DLC for 400!

Wishful thinking but man I'd be all over it :p

In any case, the announcement of the price drop definitely got my attention. Well played, Ubisoft.
$15.00 = no
$10.00 = yes

Good move Ubi.

Shadow Complex is the only game getting $15.00 this summer.
*Microsoft

They're the ones in charge of all Arcade pricing.
I would have begrudgingly paid $15 for it, but at $10, it's now a must buy.
This. I've been looking forward to this remake, and I would've paid $15 for it, but it being $10 makes it even better.

So true.

Did you even READ the article? It says both. Ubisoft makes the price- Microsoft approves of it. Ubisoft changed its mind, Microsoft approved.
Wonder if this will be the same price PS3 gets it for when it comes out later this year
I would assume so.
