I'm not sure, I live in the land of no tax :)

But one of MS's main reasons for using the cards & encouraging people to buy in bulk is to eliminate the credit card industries fee racket. (the credit industry usually charges an average of 2.7% + 30 cents for every transaction)

That fee itself is like a hidden tax, artificially inflating the price of everything, whether you buy it w/ a CC or not. It's nice how the points system eliminates it. :)
