I don't think that the release date could be by oct 5 because its only two weeks away.
 
I'm fighting a conflict with myself if i should jump for the micro center deal with xbox 360 elite and with the $50 rebate. But then i think why is Microsoft giving a $50 rebate they don't give a fuckabout their customers. So theres probally a new line up of xbox 360's coming out soon with perhaps a new board and 45nm cpu and gpu.

Aren't all 360's Jaspers by now? And does it matter? The 360's still fail at a higher rate than the other consoles.

No, not all elites are Jaspers. Sure, all Elites being made may be Jaspers but could this be left over stock just reboxed?

I have never had an xbox fail in the 3 years I had them but I still want and demand a Jasper chipset.

The real question is who wants these games? Getting two extra games vs no games for the same price is a better deal but the trade in value of these games is getting less and less.

Still it is a good deal if it is a Jasper and you want the games.
 
Plus there is no rebate hassle nor possibility of said rebate being denied. Having said that, I've not had any problems at all with Microsoft's bing cashback rebates, so I doubt there'd be a problem with this one. I wish they did it as a Bing cashback rebate instead of the usual send-in-the-form type, such that it was all automatic.

As it is, I may wait for the bundle. Plus, who knows? Maybe this rebate points toward the new bundle being priced at $249.99, not $299.99. It seems to me that often such rebates do lead to a price drop. It certainly suggests that the current price is too high, otherwise they wouldn't be offering a rebate!
 
With this deal, you got to wonder if something else is up like an Elite with 250GB HDD, outside of the limited one available now.
 
I removed the rebate bit from the title because unless it comes out on or before Oct 5th, it will not be eligible.
 
If this bundle comes out before Oct. 5 then I'm really indecisive over 120 or the 250 Elite. A $50 rebate makes the 120 a little more worth it!

I do. I would take both of these games in a minute...Pure is just awesome, and LEgo Batman is pretty fun when you've tired of all the serious games. Sure, they're two budget line games at this point, but they are both quality titles.

Definitely matters. If older units fail at, say, a 25% rate, and the Jaspers fail at, say, a 15% rate, wouldn't you want the more reliable unit? Plus, newer units should consume less energy and make less noise.

Really bad bundle. Sure they might be fun games but they should have kept Fable 2 and Halo 3 or Fallout 3. Lego Batman doesn't add much value to it.

Except the Falcon chips fall in-line with normal electronic failure rates. Not saying you shouldn't want a better chip, but the Falcon chips are perfectly fine.
 
Do you actually have any hard evidence to back that up? Nothing I have seen or heard would suggest ANY 360s prior to Jasper fall within normal failure rates. And I don't think Jasper has been around long enough to get an accurate reading.
