so i purchased the 16gb xbox flash drive for 29.99 on the amazon page it says it comes with 1 month xbl but it doesnt it comes with kinectnimals cub scan :roll: ...

so i chatted with a rep and he gave me a other 20% off the price 6$ back so in total it was $24

its probably risky and depends on the person you chat with but thought id put it out there if you were gonna buy one you can possibly get some $ back when you receive it

That sounds like a decent price. I just picked up a 16GB Sandisk flashdrive from Costco for about $22. And that's after their discount coupons. Normal price is $30.
 
Showing $30 right now, which is still decent, IMO.

However, remember the cloud is coming which might render USB drives unnecessary.

Is the cloud going to do anything with a gamertag? Because right now I think you can move that around by flashdrive only. That might be a reason to keep a USB drive but 16GB would be overkill on storage.

Yes, it'll eliminate the need to recover your gamertag. from what I've heard you'll be able to just sign in on any xbox and have your game saves right there.
 
Not the place to ask it, but is cloud going to be Xbox Live Gold exclusive, like it is in PSN with PS+? I haven't heard anything about this.

If you still play Halo 3 a flash drive is supposed to help with the loading of the game from the install more than a hard drive. I've been hoping to see it drop more than $29.99, which it did briefly a while back, but I didn't think to buy it.
 
i dont think the memory on cloud would be enough to install a game on? i know the ps3 one is mainly for game saves and small items

but about this...i paid the 30 in the link but they no longer come with 1 month xbl like it says in the product description so i spoke to a rep and got 20% back 6$

I doubt the install work with the cloud. The quick access on the hd is the reason for installing. Imagine if that data has to stream over the internet, about 100x slower I would imagine.

I do think the live gold membership is needed for cloud though.

The $30 one is sold by BlueProton. How does an Amazon rep have the power to lower a 3rd party merchant's price?

i bought 3 16gb for $12ea from newegg before. AR ofcourse ;D

ya but what brand/type is it? i have to seriously question the quality/speed of a 12 dollar 16gb usb stick

im actually in the market for a 16gb one to back up my ps3 data before a full fomrat. The 8gb patriot xporter was the onlys tick i found that passed the 360's data test so im tempted to try a 16gb version of it. Id like to get one for closer to 20 bucks though if possilbe
