I don't have any Xbox, so I am just waiting on a killer deal for the matte 250GB which isn't even out yet, I don't know if I will get kinect or not but I plan on waiting till the holiday season to buy one so I can get a better deal though Best Buy's offer this week is tempting.

Demo's and other DLC makes the 4GB basically a useless console, not to mention game installs and all the other DLC available on Xbox Live, I think this was Microsoft's attempt to get kinect into as many houses as possible.

I don't think Walmart will price-match Target's deal...if I'm reading the fine print correctly:

http://walmartstores.com/10563.aspx

"We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card"

Am I reading that right?
I don't see why consoles can't use SD or micro memory cards. They're cheap and can be bought almost any where and they'll take next to no space.
You can use external USB drives, up to a max capacity per drive of 16GB, I think
wow, really? thats.. well, just fucking gay. who the shit will use 4gb of storage space? THats NOTHING. especially when you consider all the DLC and junk that MS pushes. Honestly i dont know who the hell would ever really buy these cruddy 4gb hard driveless models theyre pushing

I cant belive they actually say you cant use a 3rd party HD. Friggin Microsoft. I miss the old days of just using a damn memory card. You could transport your saves anywhere, nothing was 'locked' onto one sonsole.. it was so much easier.

I think the PS3 lets you use whatever HD you want, doesn't it?
In the old days, a memory card cost you $30-50 for only the ability to store saves, these days you can store movies, music, games, dlc and a host of other stuff.
if xbox skimped on the $0.50 disc scratch preventing part to save money, I'm sure they don't need or want to spend more on installing any additional ports that support portable media.
That scratch resistant coating might not be compatible with DVD drives in general since it is not part of a standard like Blu-Ray is. This can cause unnecessary complications down the line, and ou don't want to mess with a part that isn't software fixable.

That said, DVD disc haven't had this coating for ages and for the most part has been fine in the last one and half decade in use. It would be nice to have it though....

So, what you are saying is if you could ONLY play demos and DLC, then the Xbox 360 wouldn't be useless? Since it is useless without it?

I suppose the older PS2 and Wii would be even more useless too.
