I am making a guess that this was to match Target's ad so it could possibly go all week.
I smell a price drop for both PS3 and Xbox Slim.
I doubt it. Many people thought of the same during black friday sales, when all retailers were pratically slashing 1/3 of the consoles' prices via gift cards/credits. It's just retail battles for sales and hoping you would use the gift card/credit on highly profitable related game software/accessories.

Both systems will definitely get a price drop this year, but I don't see that happening until E3 or after. I think MS will be the first to do it though. I think they'll drop to $149 and $249 respectively without Kinect, but also keep the Kinect bundles for the current prices. The PS3 will also likely drop to $249

I am trying to decide if Kinect is worth $80 to me or not. My mom got my stepdad a Kinect 4GB bundle for Christmas so I set it up for them and played around with it for a couple days, and while it was fun for awhile and the tech was impressive, there are just no games for it yet.

I doubt Microsoft will drop the price of Kinect under $100 in a year so it might be smart to get it now for future games.

I think Kinect could certainly see a drop to $99 this holiday to be honest but it depends on how demand is by that time. If it's as strong as now then the price will stay the same, or make a small drop to like $129. I also think MS will announce an array of "hardcore" games for Kinect at E3, as well as some sort of accessories to pair with it.
