Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle $150 w/ Borders Rewards card

Raid3n

CAGiversary!
I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but whatever. A game deal is a game deal, no matter how limited the audience might be.

This is for those of you with a Borders Rewards card (not entirely sure if it can be the free one or the one that you pay for yearly) go to http://www.bordersrewardsperks.com/ to check in to work towards unlocking the ability to buy a 360 and Kinect bundle for $150 bucks, yes, half off.

Once 100,000 people check in for the day the deal is unlocked, there are only 100 available so check in frequently throughout the day to make sure you don't miss out, Currently it is a bit over halfway from being unlocked so there is still time before they are unlocked.

This is only for today February 12, once midnight eastern time rolls around the deal is gone.

Actually i believe it's you pay $300 and you get $150 worth of Perk Points to use towards another deal on the site... I have the same offer almost daily through the rewards site my work provides, and its run the same way.

Edit: oh and it's available to any level of rewards member since i'm a free member and i've gotten this rewards perks emails since i signed up.

I've reserved a couple of similar deals recently through Borders Rewards Perks, and though i've never actually landed one(supremely limited stock), the wording seemed pretty clear that you could, indeed, opt to apply those points directly to your purchase.

As i've said, i've never actually gotten in on any of these deals; once they go live, you have to click on a "reservation" link, and it tells you after the reservation period is over(5 minutes or so) if you got it, at which point you then check out and pay. If anyone here manages to score a 360 with Kinect for $150, well, power to you.

It's a bit vague, but those 'points' should be able to apply to the purchase- up to two weeks after the initial order. Not sure exactly how that shows up, but I'm guessing it would come as a partial refund to the credit card used.

What a scammy "deal". Not worth even bothering, Borders is going bankrupt anyway . . . with your luck, you'd pay for something and then the whole thing would collapse, and you'd get nothing at all.

If I did it right, looks like it is halfway there about...
Still dont get if the checkout price will reflect the discount, or if its a rebate, or what. But I guess it wont matter in a few hours cause it doesnt look like it will happen unless the evening sees a huge jump.

happened to me when circuit city decided to ship a blu ray player right before they closed down 2 years ago...according to the tracking number that i can still enter at usps.com, its still sitting someplace in montana.

it was a real bitch trying to get money back from a no-longer-existant company, but i finally did find their last remianing customer service phone number...they kept one open for about a month or so after they closed down. funny thing is the csr refunded me and was also so kind as to reward me $10 credit. the store no longer existed.
