I’m going to fix two of my Xbox 360 controllers. Doesn’t seem too hard to do; there are plenty of YouTube videos on the subject. I was just curious if anyone here has done it and if there were any tips or suggestions for where to buy the part I need.
Controller 1: Left thumbstick remains centered, but character in game moves left. Probably the spring, or maybe dirt? Video I saw recommended cleaning under the stick with alcohol.
Controller 2: Left thumbstick again. This time, the rubber came off so I want to replace it. I’ve heard various things about this. Some say I need a soldering iron, however it looks as if the actual plastic part just snaps on and off. Only need to solder if I was replacing the actual mechanism, correct?
This is the main reason I am making a post, as I am unsure what procedure I’d need to do. Already am buying a size T8 Tork screwdriver head, do I need a soldering iron as well? Also, where should I buy the replacement stick from?
