Xbox 360 Elite for $398 at Ecost (refurb)

MCosta

CAGiversary!
Heads up, it's a refurb. (Thanks pkballr)

But, it might be worth it if you consider the new 3 year warranty on all 360s. So since Elites were released in late April you have until April of 2010 of coverage.

I already have one, but I'm sure some of you were holding out for a price drop. I haven't looked at shipping or tax costs, but supposedly the deal ends in 47 hours and only 8 are in stock.

I swear I'm not trying to threadcrap. In all honesty, I'm hemming and hawing about this deal for myself.

Question: Is the 360 manufacturer's waranty transferrable? Do you need an original purchase receipt?

I ask as I don't know if this this refurb unit will cary a proper waranty with microsoft (particularly if the unit has been serviced by MS themselves). I also worry whether a machine that has been refurbished is on a MS blacklist for xbox live...

Also, it's really, really soon for there to already be refurbished elites, no?

Every now and again I think about sufficating my 360 in a glass case in a few years, just to get their latest and greatest hardware out of my waranty, but I'm sure it'll RRoD on it's own in time :whistle2:(

You know, as soon as I saw that it said refurb I was thinking the same exact thing. This just brings to light to me how bad these damn consoles were built. I'm lucky that I haven't gotten the 3 rings yet, but it's just a matter of time before that happens. If it does, I'm probably not going to bother and fix it or replace it (probably).

No, the warranties do NOT carry over. I looked at them for awhile at Overstock.com (a site I very much trust), but they're refurbs that don't carry a warranty. I even called them up and talked to a rep to confirm it. All they could keep repeating was that they were refurbed and work perfectly, which I would immediately say "yes, they work... for now!"

I'm stearing clear of *all* at-any-time-owned 360s and simply wait for the Falcon hardware to start showing up on shelves. :/
