Xbox 360 HD DVD Player w/3 movies $40 + S/H @ Fry's

You can get the HD-DVD Player itself at GameCrazy for $10, if you're local store has it...Also there's a deal somewhere else that has HD-DVD movies for $3 a piece. So the cost breakdown

Even if you special order the hardware at game crazy that's an extra $10 to the $9.99 price tag, so $20 + tax for the player. Then 3 bucks per movie x 2 movies as the king kong comes with the HD-DVD player for a total of 6 bucks. So $26 plus shipping on the 2 HD-DVD Movies and Tax on $9.99.
 
Fry's sells the South American version of the player. I got one a while back and they even refused to acknowledge that and said that they only sell US versions and they refused to take it back!

It didn't even come with KingKong!
 
Actually not that bad considering you get the $20 Xbox remote with it (though I'm probably one of the few people that actually use the loud ass 360 for movies.) and when I checked a few months ago, Amazon Marketplace sellers had a ton of $5 HD DVD movies with FSSS and TV series for sub $15. There are worst investments as long as the drive doesn't brick.

the xbox 360 remote is much more in demand now because it works for streaming netflix movies over XBL which a lot of people are doing.

Well if thats the case, it would be better to avoid purchasing the player there, Clearly a dishonest business practice despite having cheaper price.

I actually stopped at two local game crazys this week and both said they had none in stock and no longer carried them. :(

That's ymmv -- not all Fry's stores do that. All mine carry the standard USA version with King Kong
