If anyone is looking for this awesome headset, it is originally $49.99, it went down to $29.99, but now it is $21.95! This is a pretty good deal, so if anyone is interested, nows the time to act.

Wow, those are some pretty terrible user reviews for the headset on that page. I guess I'll stick with the MS one for now, but thanks for the info.

Maybe it is just me but I still want to be able to hear through my other ear. I do have stereo speakers for a reason.

That and I don't want a big thing like that to mess up my hair, the MS one is bad enough. I need to find that ear budish one on sale.

Mine used to be perfect. Loud and clear.
It's correct that you can't hear much of the game sound from the left ear because of the huge ear cap. There is no noise cancelling though. The mic has noise reduction. That's why my friends can hear me clearly. Even when I speak softly.
I got a big head. So it kinda hurt a little bit after several hours of gaming.
I never used it for Madden.

Unfortunately now to make it work I have to adjust the jack until it works. I guess I abused the cord a little too much :( .

I'll buy a wireless headset only when they'll be more reliable and cheap.

WTF? "Mess up your hair"......LMAO!

mine feels great and sounds good. Except after a couple hours of gaming the side w/ out the ear piece starts to bother my head, like there isnt enough padding on that side. Til that point I love it. Not sure if there is anything you can do to help that besides jamming more padding there, but then u will really look retarded.

Looks like I'll hold off on this one for now. An over-the-ear design that isn't open air like Grados would weaken my ability to discern the location of sounds as well as deadening my left ear. While that isn't a problem for Madden, it's a big problem for Gears and other shooters where I can hear someone behind me.

I'm tempted to buy the headset and try my hand at a Franken-mod cobbled together from the mike and basic construction of the X205, the ear and speaker from a pair of Grados (or just convert the X205 earcup into an open air design), and the connector from a regular MS wired headset (reviews say the X205 connector falls out). Still, it's hard to muster the effort when the cheap basic headset works well enough.

The MS basic headset sucks big time IMHO :bomb:. There is no going back after you use something better.

That's the stupidest design I've seen in a LONG time.

How the fuck are you supposed to hear the game when you have a fucking cup over your ear?
