So yesterday I went over to a friends house and played his 360. We decided we wanted to play online (I was going to use my Live account and he was going to use his). I didn't know how to do it and some how I thought the "Recover Xbox Live Account" thing was the thing to do. Everything was fine, it worked, until I got back to my place today. I booted my 360 up and it didn't sign in. The first thing I thought was, oh shit this probably has something to do with that recovery thing I did yesterday. I tried signing in with my profile, no luck. I then tried recovery and I got to the last step when it said that all my saved games and crap would be deleted. I thought to my self, shit I am a dumbass. I have put in at least 8-10 hours of PDZ. I called the tech support line and they said the only way possible of saving my games from being deleted was to get a memory card. I really don't want to spend $40 on a memory card that I will probably use rarely.

First of all - is the memory card the only way?
Second - Can someone tell me the right thing to do, so in the future I don't do such an idiotic thing?

BTW, please don't make fun of me. :)

Thanks in advance.

Have him transfer his account onto your box by using a memory card + account recovery, only way I belive. Or at least, that's how I believe my brother does it with my box/his box.

I don't quite understand how that would help me get my account back, it would just be transferring his account onto mine, which would make us both be in a crappy situation.

Watch out about buying the memory card. I just tried transfering my PDZ saves off the memory card I bought with my systen to the HDD I got for christmas and the saves wouldn't come off of the memory card. The other game saves were no problem but for some reason PDZ saves must lock onto whatever memory unit they are originally saved to.

Same thing happened to me. I had to get a different profile for Xbox Live, and after doing so, I lost all my saves from Call of Duty 2 (I had won game). This sucks. I called MS, but couldn't help me. I think I'll just delete that original profile and set my Xbox Live profile as default, then go back to winning in Vet mode again.

Hmm, ok so heres the deal. It turns out I didn't even need the memory card after all. When I got home, I opened it up and tried to transfer the PDZ saves and it wouldn't let me. I just went ahead with recovering the account and afterwards I checked my game saves and everything. They were still there. So hopefully when I go back into Toys R Us today they have someone who understands working there and maybe I can get it returned.

All I did was recover my account and then went to check in the System -> Memory -> Games option to see if everything was still there and they were.
