Well, we are the 11th most populated state. Codes also started showing up in Ohio almost 2 weeks before the contest started. So, it's not that surprising that a lot of Ohioans are winning.
 
get this I put in codes for the 8-31-05 12:10pm drawing...I live in Columbus OH and my initials are S.P. ... someone in columbus ohio won and initials are S.P. for that time slot....but I havent received an email or anything saying that I won...I mean what are the chances that someone else with the same initials in the same town entered the exact same drawing as me!!! but I still don't think it was me...am I being a pessimist(sp?)

dont worry. I think you won! it takes a while to get your confirmation email. i won tues morning and still havent gotten mine. So just wait it out 2 or 3 days and youll probably get it.

Also, does anyone know whether winners get the core package or the premium? I think its the premium cause in their faq one question was is the 360 backwards compatible and the answer was simply yes. And if it was core, i guess u could say it is technically backwards compatible just with an added hd, but i doubt theyd do that to us.

This contest is already seriously fucked due to the e-mail scam. As bad as we were making 9 or 10 different e-maila dresses to share codes, it's entirely conceivable that some enterprising young person with entirely too much time on their hands programmed a bot to randomly register tens of thousands of e-mail adresses, and used the e-mail e-mail scam to receive an innumerable amount of different codes.

It also says that the prize package.... the 360, a game, and some mountain dew crap is worth $580 bucks so I think, unless they're grossly overstating it, that it's the premium package.

Just to verify in case anyone was wondering, I just called the phone number on the site to see which version the winners would receive and I was told it is the more expensive hard drive version. That's a plus. :)

That's awesome, cause that's the version I'd want if I decide to get this. (if I don't win) And if it was the other version and I won, I'd just sell it right away anyways. But I have no way to get codes now (my mom has 4 extra 24-pack cases of Mt. Dew stored away) but I hope soon.

If anyone else notices any double winners keep me updated and I'll add it and keep a tab... because all 4 times those guys won I also had points in that time slot... which is mega annoying.

Yeah, I'm really happy about this. Mountain Dew could've easily given away the cheaper version and the contest would still be just as popular....nobody would ever have known the difference. It's definately really cool of them to give away the expensive version.
