XBox 360 Platinum $299.99 @ Geeks.com

Though I won't be getting this item, I do want to say ive used geeks.com for years and they have always done me right.
It's a refurbished system.
Yep even though the $299 price tag is tempting, do you really want to fuck around with a refurbished 360 after all the problems 360's have been having?

Kinda weird how they named it Platinum...I know it is Pro/Premium but I just typed it in exactly what it said on the page. :)

I wouldn't buy a 360 without a 2 year to lifetime warranty. You're just taking too many risks. $300 isn't going to seem like a very good price when you give M$ 175 to fix it when it breaks, and again when it breaks down again =P

Platinum is no less valid than Pro or Premium. There's no such thing as any of those-it's just the X-Box 360.

This refurbished console doesn't have any warranty. If you buy a 360 new, it would be 1 year since they extended the warranty.

"Platinum," "Pro / Professional," "Premium." JUST SETTLE ON A DAMN NAME.

All the retailers abusing the name have eliminated Microsoft's ability to properly make and marker a Pro, Platinum, etc bundle. Heck, I'd expect the Premium's HDMI successor to be renamed "Pro." Because it is already called that 40% of the time, it'll fill that spot nicely.

Oh, and of course MS will have HDMI in their other sets eventually. It makes sense to only manufacture one motherboard for a QA and tech-s upport perspective. The Elite is probably just to get it out now while the others are selling back stock and warehoused inventory, but when the 60nm CPU hits, expect all newly-manufactured units to be using the same board/CPU.

The Premium absolutely does exist. The official packages are Core, Premium, and Elite.
