Good God I'm glad I'm not interested in the 360 right now...

Cheap Ass Gamer Link

But for those of you who are, how about $700 for the premium system, 4 games, another controller, and more?

Or $600 for the cheaper system with much of the same.

The newsletter also states you can put down $50 to preorder it in stores.
I can't believe that PD:Zero is gonna be on dumb old XBox....:bomb:
It's not. It's going to be on great old XBox 360.

not a bad deal...$400 for the premium console, 4 games, extra controller, plug and play, and rechargable battery pack...only problem, that isn't the games/accesories I wanted at launch

What is with EB and thier crappy system launch bundles?
A bundle with 2 rare games?
Rare hitting a ship day with no delays, with two games? I will belive it when I see it.
When was the last time they even made a good game?

I am not Recommand for Pre-order deal!

XBOX 360 Premium package $400 + 4 games ($60 X 4 = $240) = $640. EBgames Charge $700 + Taxes + Shipping = OVERPRICING!!

You always find it cheap whenever it hit the store!

They are also giving an extra wireless controller ($50) and charger accesories ($30), but Kameo and Project Gotham are $50 each normally (-$20) = $700 total!

Will the B&M EB force you to purchase a bundle?? I'm not spending $700 for a fuckin bundle, I'm not that much of a pimp!

I've got a system preordered from there and that's exactly what i want a system. I'll probably buy 1 or 2 games at launch but i want to decide which ones and where i get them from.

Eh, EB Games can actually blow me. I want the system -- not this "bundle" shit. I've never wanted a bundle with any system and I'm not about to start now. Give me my 360 and my DOA 4 boobies and leave me the fuck alone.

Dunno when I'll actually get around to buying the system though... I mean, not much in the way of exclusives save for DOA 4.

You can always buy B&M without a bundle, but most systems are only available in bundles online at launch.

LOL I hope so because I about shit myself when i saw those price tags! ;)

I gotta stop in tomorrow and make sure they have me reserved for the $400 system and not the $300 system, I just wanna make sure they have me on the right list. I wonder if the are calling back all the people who already preordered or how they are handling the 2 system deal....
how about $700 for the premium system, 4 games, another controller, and more?
Ahem, don't you mean $699.92?
I can't believe the next-generation of gaming is under $700! Hooray!

Basically, the retailers make next to nothing on the consoles. Making you purchase the accessories and games is pretty much their only way to make money on these things. Even on a $399.99 console, I bet EB's margain is very low.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending a $700 (I mean $699.92) bundle, I'm just trying to let you know the dilleo.

Yeah, way for EBgames to keep the next generation of gaming under $700

Haha... I forgot, Cheapy's gonna be nice enough to give us all $699.92 to join him in the next generation. I knew there was a reason I posted this. Just pay tax and shipping!

Edit: Hmph... I can't believe you edited my subject, Cheapy. I don't see why you would want to avoid having people think I had posted about three hundred and sixty preorder bundles.

Reasonable. ;)
$50 for a wireless controller?

Does it have a ?
For a basic wireless, it does kinda suck, especially if the battery life is only 30 hours (Wavebird seems to last forever and that started at $35, I thought). We'll see how much the Revolution controller goes for, especially if its got tilt resistance/gyroscopic control.
$50 for a wireless controller?

$50 for a good 1st party wireless controller with built in headset dongle isn't a bad deal in my eyes. A crap 3rd part wireless xbox control is $40 with no headset attachment.

Oh, its got a headset attachment? That's not too shabby. I must have glossed over that part of the description. Unnecessary, but worth the added cost if you desire it.

It's probably overkill though on the headset if your buying it for a 2nd controller since your guest probably cant talk online anyway. I hate the idea of spending another $50 for a 2nd controller but it's not that bad of a deal.....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that nobody is going to buy the idiot "Core System" in a bundle. If you're not repulsed by the idea of bundles, then it's pretty clear that the $400 package, while steep, is a much better deal.

Yeah; considering that the premium system starts at $100 more than the core system, and then there is more stuff in the premium bundle than the core bundle and it's STILL only $100 (oops, sorry, it's $99.99) more, that'd be what I'd get if I were in the market.

The Tax is $35.00 and what will the shipping be? $9.99(for slow delivery).
$699.92
+ $34.996
$9.99
$744.91

Cheap? sorta (For next Gen) But that still doesn't mean I'm going to spend $745 on a pre order.

Wonder how many people are turned off from buying one now. If Microsoft had any sense they wouldn't let them sell it like that. You know if has to cost them sales. $700 is ridiculous.

EB must be smoking crack if they think I'm going to pay $700 for a freaking bundle. I hate bundles. They make you buy crap you don't want or need. I may pick an XBOX 360 in 2006 when the PO 360 games start to drop in price. But $500 to $700 at launch, forget it.

I'm guessing that EBGames will have to lower their pricing now that the pricing for first party games has been set.

XBox Premium = $399.99
Perfect Dark Zero (Limited) - $49.99 (Unless "limited" adds to the cost?)
Dead or Alive 4 - $59.99 (?)
Kameo - $49.99
Project Gotham Racing 3 - $49.99
Extra Wireless Controller - $49.99
Play & Charge Kit - $19.99
Rechargable Battery Pack - $11.99

Unless I did my math wrong, that's only: $691.92

So, by pre-ordering you're being charged $8 more?

I think this explains it...
• We reserve the right to substitute or remove a game or accessory that will not be available at launch. If this occurs, you will be notified and have an opportunity to cancel at any time up until 10 days before the Xbox 360 launch date.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to get an Xbox until the third launch in my EB Stores and Gamestop stores so I had to plop down $700 bux on this bad boy. I was interested in getting all those games anyway so I am happy I will atleast get it on launch day.

Actually you won't you have to wait for shipping.

Yes that is correct. If you want the system the greater power of EB Games want you to buy the system for $700. You can buy the crapped down version for a low low price of $600 too but you will eventually shell out another $100 for the hard drive so you minds well buy it from day 1. Personally I just wanted the new system and Madden and I'd been happy for a few months. Now I'd have to pay $760 plus shipping to get that.

The 4 games that they have listed to FORCE you to buy are:
Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition
Dead or Alive 4
Kameo: Elements of Power
Project Gotham Racing 3
I wrote the following letter to EB games and I encourage everyone to do the same. We shouldn't be forced to buy games that we don't want because they are worried about stock. Microsoft gave out a release price and they should follow it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would just like to know why EBgames is trying to
give the consumers the shaft on the upcoming release
of xbox360. I personally have no alternative but to
take my business elsewhere because you give no option
to buy the system. I don't want to be forced to buy
games with a new release system and at a $700 price
tag. The system with the $600 price tag is a load of
crap and I don't see many people buying it. I bought
the PS2 and preordered it with a memory card and 2
games and it came down to about $450. I was expecting
to spend about the same by getting the system for $399
plus the Madden game for another $60. Now to get the
release game that I only want I'd have to pay 760 plus
shipping. I've been a consumer of yours since the
company name was Games and Gadgets back in the 80s. I
spend several hundreds of dollars in video game
entertainment at your store each year and I would like
a good reason why I should continue to shop with you.
Please change these tactics. I am awaiting a serious
response. Most people got the PS2 system on release
date or a few months later. If Xbox 360 is to be
successful, consumers shouldn't have to take the hit
of buying 4 games that we don't want. Again, please
give me a serious response because I will find other
markets to take my gaming business.

Thank you,

Where did you hear this?? thats complete crap for those wanting to get an xbox 360 if thats the case... didnt they do the same thing with the psp tho?? all they had for sale were those bundles?

Wow... no wonder the kids working there were constantly annoying me to pre-order the 360 for months now.

Suck up your money now, and fool people into dishing out $750 w/tax. Oy vey.

So, DON'T buy a fucking bundle!!! Go to the fucking B&M, walk your happy ass in and buy a bare-bones xbox 360! No one is forcing you to buy a fucking bundle!!

Yeah, i see its on the cag frontpage now, im just blind, maybe they'll sell the system individually too, and for now are selling only the bundles, but if thats not the case then yeah take your business elsewhere, screw em

They don't make you get the bundle in the B&M stores, just online. Quantities are more limited online considering its nationwide.
