Xbox 360 price/bundles leaked (?)
I'd like everyone to read that. Take a good long look, and then tell me what's wrong.
I'm thinking that it doesn't make sense, Led. If it's more than that, then please tell me.

If the XBox 360 is more than 400 dollars, I will take a video of me eating dog crap while saying "I am MellowYellow's bitch," and I will post it here.

Not going to happen.

(Keep in mind bundles that include a bunch of extra stuff don't count, you pricks who want me to eat dog crap for your amusement!)

If the XBox 360 base unit is more than 360 dollars, I will take a video of me eating dog crap while saying "I am MellowYellow's bitch," and I will post it here.

Not going to happen.

(Keep in mind any possible bundles that include a bunch of extra stuff don't count, you pricks who want me to eat dog crap for your amusement!)

Funny how people jump on the boat with their very first post being something HUGE that no one else has ever heard of. Seems more like just planting these "magical secrets" to start a bunch of crap amoung everyone else.

Now I kinda hope the xbox 360 comes out for $360.99

"complaints" is spelled with a "t" and mellow yellow is full of shit. That's.......quite possibly............the worst. strategy. evar. that would fail faster than a crackfiend taking a drug test. It sounds like something someone would make up and post to a forum just to get a rise out of people. Good thing you don't work for M$ Mellowyellow, caused they'd be fucked.

Anyway, I'm being pessimistic and going with a $400 launch price, that way I'll be psyched when it's less. But, as someone mentioned in another thread, they may release it cheaper by relying on the on-line marketplace to cover for any discounts--since it'll almost be pure profit.
I kind of wonder why they went with the 20 GB drive. It seems like something that is not really all that common anymore. I would think something a little bigger would be more standard and easier for others to produce (and would in turn cost less)
My guess is to eliminate piracy. The DVD discs will be larger than the hard drive.
MS' main focus of first wave Xbox 360 buyers are early adaptors and high income families. These are the customers who will pay money to be the first kid on the block owning 360 regardless the price.
Actually, MS stated in their conference that they wanted to take Sony next round, and they thought the magic number was 10 million units. They figure the first console to get there is going to have a huge edge, and they really want it to be the 360. They want to move the units. They could care less about selling a couple hundred thousand of them for an extra $100 each. They want millions of them out the door. I seriously doubt they will price themselves out of that goal. They took a hit on the Xbox because of royalty payments. They've got in-house technology this time, and they're going to be more aggresive than ever to try and sell as many 360's as they possibly can before the PS3 release.

KNOWING that's what they want, your "inside" info seems pretty far from the mark....

Yeah really...this is a multi-multi-billion dollar corporation that will do just about anything for the console market, they probably wouldn't mind losing money on these systems as long as it meant everybody owned one.

I guess things changed in MS during E3 again. Apparently buyers of big retailers are getting new price point of $360 now. So disregard my previous post on the price.

Now that sounds more like it :D i sure hope that's right, cause I'm already half way there in paying this thing off.

All I know is if 360 is priced at $360 I will go pre-order one. But until I officially hear what the price is going to be I won't bother with it.

This is slightly OT, but MS would be smart to institute a pay-per-play model for their Xbox arcade. Many Xbox owners don't want to pay $10-$20 bucks to play a classic arcade game, but they might spend $0.25 (remember micro-transactions?) for a single play, like in the arcade. A monthly subscription for unlimited access would be another nice option.

I'd like to see homebrew games offered for paid (or free) download as well to show support for the Xbox indie dev community.
