Just sent in my 2nd Xbox 360 RROD two weeks ago - first one was April 2006 and died after 6 months, next one was manufactured October 2006 and just died. I was surprised when this time the 2nd replacement was a different serial number (1st time they transposed my serial number to the October 2006 manufacture dated system), and even more suprised when I noticed the manufacture date was September 27, 2007! That's like 3 weeks ago! They also shipped it with a faceplate with the infrared sticker still attached despite my being instructed to keep my original one, and as a nice gesture have now thrown in a 1 Month Live membership card.
So either they are now redoing the manufacture dates, or they may be using their old stock of new non-HDMI units as replacement units. Hopefully this one has an upgraded heatsink so I don't have to send it in a third time six months down the road again. FYI, maybe you guys can speculate about this some more as to what Microsoft is shennaniganning...
