Xbox 360 slim or Elite?

Hello I have yet to take the official plunge into getting an Xbox and I was gonna order an elite if the rumors about the slim weren't true but they became true.

Do you guys think it's worth the extra 50$ for the Wifi and extra hard drive space?

The Wifi isn't a huge deal to me as the xbox will only be a few feet away from my tv or LCD monitor unless of course I wanted to put the xbox in the front room and watch netflix movies.

Do you really need more then 120 gb of space? Not to mention I still have to buy Red Dead Redemption as my first game so there goes another 60$ unless they have a sale between now and first week of July.

I guess the huge question is do we trust Microsoft enough to make a new hardware work correctly and did they skimp on any hardware this time around to keep the price low.
 
It's definitely worth the $50 for the fact the slim has a fan over the heatsink which will prevent all the over heating problems you might've experienced with the older models.
 
If I were just now picking one up, I would no doubt go for the new "slim" model.

I have had an elite for right at 3 years now, and I am going to pick up one of the new slims myself. The elite has yet to fail me, so I cannot complain there. But good lord it is loud. Annoyingly so. So, due to the promise of quieter operation and the fact that my elite is now out of warranty, I am going to trade up. Built in wireless and smaller/more efficient power supply are also good points.

Whether there will be any long term problems with the hardware will remain to be seen, but the new ventilation setup and 45nm chipset should eliminate the overheating / red ring problems that older models see.

The only complaint I have is the glossy black finish. I much prefer the matte black of my elite which matches the PS3 slim next to it. Odd that sony went from gloss to matte on their redesign and MS went the other route. Oh well.
 
Thanks guys I guess I will grab up the slim the first week of July. The only thing stopping me would be a 200$ elite deal either via gift cards or game credit hehe.
