Xbox 360 transfer kit

Hi Crazyglitcher.

I also find this information. If you find the answer then post it here. I also want that kit information.

I am waiting for that thanks in advance.

Well, my solution isn't really "ethical" as my mom would say, but it gets the job done. Head to Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc. and pick up a new 120gb HDD with the transfer cable, use the cable, and then return everything along with the package. It sure is a time saver compared to waiting for an eBay auction/shipping time. You also won't be out $30-40 for something you're going to use once.

OR

You could always find a friend who has one.

I grabbed a 120gb HDD off of eBay last year (which turned out to be non-OEM, but still works, except for backwards compatibility).

Just call Microsoft XBox customer care and request a cable.
They will ask for the S/N of your current system and new system. Your current system has to be a S/N for a 20gb system or they won't send the cable. (Not sure if the transfer kit is compatible with 60gb systems...i don't think so)

Tell them you are purchasing a new system next week and want to get the cable ordered ahead of time, so you don't have the serial number for the new system.

I did this when I bought my RE5 Elite and the cable arrived the same day I got my new system.

some CAGs will lend theirs out...I'd do it for a mini-trade (MS points, PSN points, etc.) but you'd have to have decent feedback first.

This. Microsoft will give it to you for free. And the 60gb will work, since it says so in the manual. As long as the transfer is going same size or bigger, it'll work. Just never smaller.

Its actually not free anymore. :/
I ordered mine about 3 days ago for like $12.
I just upgraded to an Elite system and called them and they said it wasn't free anymore.

Yeah. They charge ~$12 shipping now.

called MS and bitched that I got a new Elite and can not transfer my stuff - they actually talked to some other department and got my hopes up, but then still said they cant send me one unless I pay $12.

If anyone is in Brooklyn or NYC area I would love to borrow one; I'll pick it up and bring it back the next day. Maybe even give you a couple bucks.

Just went through this myself with my new Elite. As the other posters say it is no longer free. IMHO you are better off buying a memory card (the smaller ones are about the same price as the transfer cable used). It's easy enough to re-download stuff and transfer licences. The only thing you really need the cable for is your save games (note some save files, like Forza2 you can only MOVE not Copy).

Seems like a bad move on MS's part as this only pisses off long time customers and encourages people not to use their stupid one shot cable.
Looking for one of these. Anyone know where/who I can get it from cheap?
If you're on twitter send an @ message to XBOXSupport asking for help. I've seen in the past few days that apparently people got them to help order transfer kits for them, and apparently there was no charge.
