XBOX 360 warranty Question

There is a 360 that I want to buy off of Craiglist for $325. He said he received it as a gift and does not need it.
My question is, he does not have a receipt because it was a gift. Will their still be a warranty on it if I dont have the receipt, how does that work?
Thanks a ton for the answer. Hopefuly I can go get it tonight if it is legit.

just my two cents--

I bought a 360 last year while TRU was running a deal, anyway this was before the warranty was extended to a year.


I call the number and they say that my 360 is out of warranty...wtf. So, therfore, I cannot purchase an extended warranty....They told me I needed to fax the receipt to them before I could extend any warranty.

I did that and they sent me a letter telling me that I had until such and such a time to extend my warranty. I never did it though, a week or so later they announced the year warranty thing.
