Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter - $86.99 Shipped via Amazon
Uh, no it's not. If you're using wireless you will have a much larger ping that will negatively affect the gameplay of other players. Particularly in games that need tighter timing, like fighters.
I don't play fighters online (I'd imagine getting as low a ping as possible for those really does help) but I've played a ton of Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 via wi-fi when I'm on my laptop and don't get any sort of lag (unless there's some issues on the server side of course) and my ping rarely climbs above 50-60 which is more than good enough to play those games. I use wired whenever possible (like when I'm on my desktop) but when I'm not near my router/modem, wi-fi works just fine for me in games. Can't imagine it being worse on the 360. Guess I'm lucky to have a fast connection and a good router.

Pretty off-topic, but does the Edge Card work with this when buying it used at gamestop.com? I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to work. It's supposed to be compatible with used accessories. Thanks if you can help.

You should not have a larger ping because of Wifi unless your internet connection is larger than 54Mbps transfer speed. You should not notice any difference in wifi or lan when accessing the internet. You will notice the difference if you are transfering files between computers.

Don't you just connect it to the ethernet port of the 360? I don't know if there is any additional setup.. (might have to connect it to PC first, configure it to connect to your existing router, then connect it to the 360).

Yes, you have to configure it with your router. It works if I plug it in directly to my router, but if I try wireless (which is the point of this thing lol), it will never connect.

Thanks for the tip on the 20% off. Found the only used adapter within 50 miles of me and ran out to get it on Saturday. I tried for about a week to make the laptop bridge thing work, but I could never resolve the IP address issues, so $55 with tax for a used adapter was fine by me.
I hate anyone and everyone that plays on Live with this thing. Quit ruining my experience with your laggy wifi. =P
Getting 3-4 bars, which is nearly max speed, is probably not the thing "ruining your experience".

If you still want the adapter, your best bet is probably to wait until GameStop has another 25% off accessories coupon, then use it with Edge to get a used one for about $50.
