I won an xbox 360 through that Mountain Dew competition thingy, and my friend and I decided to dumbly post our codes together so we decided the fair thing to do would be to sell it and split the money 50-50, so I was thinking I would sell it on Ebay, starting at $400 because that is how much its worth... Is this a good idea or are there any better ones?

Probably your best bet is to ebay it, should net you a hefty sum. But since you are getting a system 3 days before everyone else. You could probably sell it on the street. If that is even legal I would do that.
 
haha good ideas, but ebay sounds really nice right now... hopefully I'll make 800 off of it so we could buy ourselves each one later....

If your going to sell it on eBay, list it now and offer overnight shipping as the only shipping method. That way they get it a day before release, and you make a killing ;)
 
I would say sell it right before xmas and make sure the buyer gets it before xmas (list it like 10 days before xmas as a 3 day auction or something). If the shortage is true you will definately make a killing, cause some buyers dont know about the shortage yet

yeah I'm thinking I get it and after the great shortage I will sell it on ebay and my brother says I'll get an ass load of money, possibly, so this topic is now locked... however you lock this dumb thing!
 
Your best bet is to put it up ASAP on ebay the second you get it and take your OWN photos, not stock. You can say you have it ready ship next day. Since you'll have it a few days before launch it might get people excited. Maybe do a buy it now super high, or a 1 day auction with a reserve
 
Do both of you want a 360 eventually? If so keep the one you one, and then split the cost to buy another one. That way you both have a 360 for 200 dollars.
 
Actually you can't have it mailed to someone by Monday, the earliest a overnight package can get on the weekend is Tuesday morning. I work at UPS, plus I get over-night packages all the time. It's the next morning after the first working day it's picked up. Shipped Saturday means it won't even leave the local hub until Monday and get anywhere Tuesday.


Plus overnight shipping will cost you around 20-40 bucks depending on your location.
