Sounds like someone got PWNED!!!11!!!eleven!![/quote]
See, I'd agree with that, except for the fact that the last series of battles directly plays against everything the game does well, and exploits everything the game does badly. Fighting multiple opponents in Breakdown is hard not because it's complicated to block attacks not directly in front of you, but because it's *impossible* to do so. So, when you get a pair of the really fast, really strong enemies circling around you, so you have one on each side, the only option is to run. You can't block them when they're in that configuration. And if one hits you, then they keep alternating hits, you're dead, and can't do anything about it. Period.
That's not difficult, that's poor design. It's not challenging, it's stupid. Seriously, I understand that some people are just masochistic, and find that sort of thing to be fun, but given how reasonably the rest of the game was designed, it's simply an issue of the designers saying "yeah, we couldn't think of anything really honstly difficult to do, so screw you, here's something that will exploit all the stupid s**t we couldn't get right with the hand-to-hand combat!"
It's just not fun. It's not well designed, it's not well thought out, and it's only challenging because the mechanics of the game are as poor as they are.
If that's pwnage, then I've been pwned. But I'd say that Namco screwed up big with this game by including such a horribly designed series of battles.
