Lurkers lurk because it makes them feel powerful and they know you can't do anything. Acknowledging them just makes them feel better. Lurkers gonna lurk, don't give them the satisfaction. I understand why it can be upsetting, but with patience you still have a chance of getting something you need. This forum is filled with generous people. I myself personally have gotten dlc that I missed by a second, but later found another generous soul to help me out. Love my CAGs, you guys rule!

This is true. I don't know if it's possible to make certain threads Member Only.

It would cut down on lurking I believe...Or get CAG more members who will join to lurk
 
There IS a members only thread, there ARE ways to stop lurkers.

The people dropping codes in here are simply choosing not to use those methods.

Using the members only thread doesn't stop code lurkers, you just know that it was a member that took it.

ive posted a few codes now and didn't like that lurkers took em all so now i use pm that way i get a member who appreciates the code and will use it, not just redeem it for the sake of it.

I've said this for the 999999999th time. This thread needs to be locked and remade. There are too many auto-loggers. That's why the codes are gone within seconds. Either that, or people post used codes. :roll:

A lot of people simply don't care when dropping their codes. The easiest method would simply be to have the first person to quote you would get the code. That would prevent all lurkers, but again, those who drop usually don't care.
