• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Decided to pick up Tony Hawk remaster digitally. Thought about getting a physical copy at my local chain but almost have enough credit there to pay off series x depending on the price and since THPS has smart delivery I passed on a physical copy. Redeemed $20 in rewards credit since I missed out on the newegg and the dell discount codes.

Have 1 achievement left in the OG Super Lucky's Tale. I enjoyed the game but those last 4 or 5 achievements sure are a grind. My roommate keeps telling me to check out Carrion but I'm tempted by The Touryst with all the talk in the thread.

EDIT: Not sure if THPS has smart delivery? My roommate has the new store update, and I don't yet, and I thought I saw that it said xbox series x on the store page. Hope for my sake it does, but I'm sure I'll play enough that a digital copy is worth it.

Which is 150 less points than the $5 Xbox gift card costs now for level 2 users. Not sure how it works for people that have hundreds of thousands of points. But, I would assume that it just keeps giving you $5 gift cards, until you get below 4,500 points.

This is a weird option. I signed up for it and looks like I will get a $5 gift card at start of every month, unless I cancel. It costs 4500 points at moment but it says you will receive the best price available, so it might change.
It looks like the auto redeem is just 1 gift card, no option to use more points for more gift cards and there is another option to redeem now for one time purchase of 4,750 points.
This also states that Microsoft Rewards will no longer discount gift cards with hot deals, might be why we have not seen a hot deal on gift cards for a while.
This promotional gift card is to be spent within 90 days and does not work at physical stores.
Not sure if this is everywhere, but as it is on the Australian Microsoft Rewards app, I can't see why it would not be on the American Microsoft Rewards app also.

TCL's can struggle with viewing angles and reflections on some TV's though.

TCL the have really low input lag on the gaming modes. I've had mine almost a couple of years and have been really pleased with it. Reflection can be a problem depending on your lighting and setup, but for a quarter of the cost of other sets, I'd say go for it.

Then again, I got really good at THPS3 on the Game Cube, and that d-pad is worse.

I've never owned those 3 Mario games, and I see it as $20 a game, which is a pretty good deal, even at MSRP. Because it sounds like they have been remastered with the Switch in mind.

These aren't remasters, they're just upgraded ports. But yes, $20 apiece for games on a modern system (and Galaxy without waggle!) is worth it.

LoL yea I literally bought the Gamecube version after I already beat THPS 3 on PS2 because it was like a whole new challenge on that nightmare controller.

I started THPS with the Dreamcast as well so the Xbox controller is not a problem. Really happy that they brought the HORSE mode back as that was our mode of choice back in the day.

I didn’t finish work til midnight last night so then I played Tony Hawk til 2am. I had no interest in Marvel Avengers but I signed up for the free one cuz I have Verizon so I’ll try it out this weekend, they sent me my code this morning.

Tony Hawk feels great, I love it. I’ve only played the first level and it’ll take some time getting good at it again but the controls feel awesome and super easy to get used to.

I'm waiting for the GOTY version to come out. It will retail for $39.99 with all the DLC plus gets that Series X upgrade that the vanilla version won't get. I figure if I'm playing it on Series X in November, and have waited this long, GOTY might be on sale for Black Friday.

Edit: Only the digital version comes out this year. Probably less likely to see a digital sale on it but fingers crossed.

It's baffling to me that $0.05 is worth wearing out your thumb sticks or aggravating yourself with a game you don't want to play. You could just be happy to get a couple cents to try out a new game, and if you don't like it you don't have to keep playing or try to beat the system. Whatever tho, you do you.


My brother keeps bringing up Marvel Avengers. Based on the reviewers I trust, it has enough fun factor that my bro will feel justified for "talking me into it." He's not completely wrong either, I'm sure he'll have a lot of fun playing through with his son. He still brings up how they has fun playing Colonial Marines co-op, no matter how many times I try to explain why I and the majority of other players hated it. I just want to wait for BF to pick it up for $20, because it looks like a bargain bin movie tie-in without the movie to me.

I keep waffling on the XSX. I have enough of a library and interest in 60fps to make it worth it, but I'm leery about the storage. If I knew any nvme ssd would get the benefits and they only guaranteed next gen performance on their Seagate drive, I wouldn't be worried. I'm afraid they might cap performance if it isn't the specific model number tho and a proprietary drive will likely hang around at double the cost of a drive with the same specs not "Made for Xbox." This BS console war game of chicken for who's gonna announce the price first isn't helping either.

Skins, emotes, and such are tied to the epic account and are crossplatform. Vbucks are a little different.

Yes. I only buy v bucks or use my v bucks on one device(Xbox). My full balance shows on my Xbox and a smaller amount usually shows up on my Switch.

The license means it will sell well enough, especially for holidays, that I don't think this will happen. Square-Enix is also less likely to abandon a game for under-performing than EA is, given how quickly they bailed on Andromeda's DLC and Anthem in general. S-E has spent wayyy too much money on the license and development to put it out to pasture like that.

Agreed, and I didn’t plan on supporting it, it seems like something that will end up free or $5 with a ton of paid dlc in the future but Verizon was giving it out for free so I figured why not at that price. I’ll try it during my 3 day weekend at some point.

No way Avengers is down to $10 on BF ... the license alone won’t allow it to drop that deep. Anthem was a blowout because it was a completely new franchise and it also sucked. Avengers may not be perfect, but lowest you’ll find it is $25 with $35 more likely. Especially when you consider their plan to add 10+ characters in 2021.

I've said it before, but even with a $600 price tag, Game Pass, BC, and controller support means this is the first console launch where you buy the console and don't HAVE to spend any more money on games etc if you are already into the Xbox ecosystem.

At the same time... $600 is 90% of my share of the rent, which is a lot of money for a console.
