General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I really enjoyed it, honestly I don't remember much about it now though, feel like 15 or less would be a good place for it. I do remember towards the end there were a few grindy achievements and there was a menu that let you change it so you took no damage and dealt max damage that made a few achievements easier

 
I picked up Jade Empire and the upgrade to World War Z to Aftermath for $10. I picked up the base game for $5 on amazon and have been enjoying it coop with a friend.

There are possible opportunities to double dip assuming the spring sale has its own punchcard.

Forza 5 premium on sale all time low of $50 and on the new game punchcard. Age of empires, Ni no Kuni, Civ 6, Destiny lightfall, gigantosaurus Dino kart, like a dragon digital deluxe, monster energy Supercross,

RE4 reappeared on the new game punchcard but no sale on that one.

I did notice a game on my list was delisted: Stela. Too bad, was interested in it but didn't want to add it to my backlog yet. They didn't post anything on social media. Delistedgames.com said they made a social post on steam about it. Looks like it's exclusive to Apple arcade now.
 
Meh. Not much for me. Was hoping the Greedfall bundle would have been on sale. There’s a couple Gamepass games BC titles I’d like to get just to have, especially digitally like the Fable games and Crimson Skies but I have them on disc. I’ve got $10 in credit so I might pick up Starlink Deluxe since it’s the cheapest I’ve seen in a long time.
 
Probably going to get Crimson Skies. Also probably marvels avengers now that it's the "definitive edition". Probably not gonna actually play it ever but in case I do decide at least I'll have it what with the delisting soon

I've purchased about 500 some odd games (I know, rookie number compared to most here) plus whatever is on gamepass. pretty much have anything I might be interested in playing.

I've purchased about 500 some odd games (I know, rookie number compared to most here) plus whatever is on gamepass. pretty much have anything I might be interested in playing.

 
Hmm yup not much going on with this sale…
Might pick up TMNT collection for 30% off but that’s a bit high yet. Maybe just grab the speedstorm basic set instead..

I've got about 250 items on wishlist but alot of that stuff never went on sale, or not on sale often enough. It's not like I can feasibly play all this stuff but I gameshare with alot of people and love having large libraries to access.

I’ve been wanting to get TMNT too but I’m holding off until it drops at least to 50%.

Only the Xbox version had a 30% dead zone on the sticks. It was immediately noticeable on the demo. The PC and PS5 versions were fine all along.

Looks like Resident Evil 4 got added back to the new games punch card. Might cash in some rewards and get it now.

I played the demo again after reading about the Dead zone issues, oddly enough I didn't notice it the first time I played, but after reading about it it's definitely there and hard to ignore. It seems to be a worse problem on the x-axis on the left stick, moving forward and backward there's a small delay in the demo but not awful. Aiming doesn't bother me that much and the camera feels relatively responsive. Maybe I'm just more sensitive to character movement?

Supposedly the patch this week made it a little better, the demo seems tolerable but I think ignorance was bliss. It helps when you're running around a lot and not moving slowly. Sweetheart
 
I'm about 10 hours in on my first playthrough of RE4.  After the first hour or so of the game I didn't notice the dead zones at all.  I did play a bit this morning after the update and it does seem like the dead zone has been fixed.  I've played the original a few times and this really is a great game that feels new and improved in every way.  I got it as a pre-order during one of the Target B2G1 promotions, so I only paid $40.  I can't say I'd recommend buying at full price (especially with how cheap most Capcom titles eventually get), but it is a must play in my book for fans of the series/genre.

I bought RE4 at $60 and have no regrets. It’s a Fantastic amazing game. I know it will be $10 in a year or so.

I unlocked my achievement last night at 11:44 local, 12:44 eastern, and the notification that I completed the quest popped up instantly. I think the game pass quests have never had a real unlock time issue as far as I can recall.

 
I'm not sure if this was mentioned or not already but with Microsoft's spring sale, I am able to get a lot of the $7.99 movies for $4.99 I'm not sure if it's just me being lucky or for everyone. I purchased Auqa teen forever plantasm for $4.99 which was supposed to be $7.99 and seen alot more that say $7.99 but when I click on them it shows $4.99 like Mad max movies, Green Mile, Batman and Superman : Battle of the super sons and alot of other $7.99 movies not all but most.

 
You were right. I tested a few and some are marked down randomly i got Christmas story for $4.99 when it’s supposed to be $7.99. So was “It” for $4.99 which is really good deal

Also Conjuring 1 and 3, Willy Wonka, V for Vendetta

I'm really enjoying Bravery and Greed as part of the free weekend.  It only eats up a little more than 1 GB, I enjoy roguelikes, and I don't expect to beat it.  So, it's a nice little diversion.

 
So this is a little embarrassing but I was scrolling through the spring sale and I fell asleep on the couch. I somehow purchased the season pass 3 for DOA6. I am not getting any refund offer for the DLC. Does it take time? I have another game I purchased a week ago that still has the refund option. Shit was $42. This will be a good one when I tell my new wife...I don't even own the game. 

Edit: Refund option came up...wife thought it was hilarious.

I have seen the word wife a couple of times on this forum. For being a cheapassgamer, I am amazed you were able to afford one. Or maybe you are a cheapassgamer because she is so expensive. Or maybe it's because you have cancer and she will inherit a lot of money when it finally gets you a game over...

Just a heads up that I think the 4.99 movies are part of Warner Bros. anniversary special. They've been running a few promotions where you get special pricing if you own certain WB movies. Some pretty good deals for anyone doing the monthly punchcard

I am not pleased with Microsoft right now. Retroarch was what convinced me to turn my system on most days! Now it's gone, unless I pay Microsoft a $20 ransom fee.

Even after that, how long is it going to take before they pull the football away again? "Whoopsie, we can't offer dev mode to anyone but actual developers now, but we will keep your money!"

It was nice while it lasted but it was pretty odd it lasted as long as it did. They kind of had to crack down eventually. I don't think there has ever been a system that would run emulators without the need for hacking or modding the console somehow. I think the closest I have is my PSP that a certain system version can run unsigned software so I have a GBA emulator on it. Other than that I don't recall one ever having official support straight out of the box.

Right now I can see Microsoft clamping down on anything that looks like they're allowing the established player base to emulate the competition's games i.e Sony.

The timing of this smells of something Activision deal cooking. Microsoft definitely sold some more consoles (esp S consoles) due to emulation.
