Xbox GTA San And $10 shipped. Xbox360 core $219

That Xbox 360 core for 219 sounds like a pretty good deal(if you want a core that is).

yeah, pretty good deal for Oblivion for 360. but has anyone bought from these guys before? they don't look all that...well, professional.

edit: above poster already provided good info. I'm too damn slow.

Weren't these the guys last year selling Half-Life 2 with "used" CD keys (meaning it didn't work) for really cheap? and it was decided they were sorta buyer-beward, things might be refurbed or not as they seem? (I think they had Gamecubes with a huge bundle for like $69 and it turned out they were refurbs)

Watch out for resellerratings with a ton of 1-review posts... (and look through the pages-- it looks like there was a swarm of very positive reviews posted within a day or two after a few VERY negative ones-- like getting them off the first page)

As normal, buyer beware, don't spend more than you can afford to lose. :)

Thanks OP, I ordered both a 360 Core and San Andreas! It was $30 shipping on the 360 Core, but no additional shipping cost for San Andreas.

EDIT: By the way, I've ordered from them before and everything always worked great.

I just checked the site, I know what you mean by unprofessional. I could whip up a site that looked like that in like 2 hours, and I'm not even that good.

But still, may be legit. People who buy should report back how things went.

Lots of good companies don't know how to set up web sites, so that doesnt really bother me. I too am interested in how the transactions turn out. Please post.

Not bashing you on the find, just making a statement. If it works out alright is all that matters.

i bought half life 2 from consumer depot and received one without a used cd key :)

edit: whoa, the price for the xbox360 works out to $241 shipped for me. i'm tempted hehe

wow thats a good price, but it is still the core, it only comes with a wired controller

compare this to the $350 or so overstock.com deal

it came with:
most stores have the 20gb hard drive for $99.99
wireless controller for $39.99
360 headset for around $20

but maybe you'll be able to ifnd those items cheaper at other places

so it eventually adds up over awhile and the savings isnt that great

yeah, this is them. i watched a few decent deals go fizzling in flames because of their spotty merchandise. they're sort of a crap shoot -- sometimes you'll get something mint and complete (or *gasp!*, new), but a lot of the time, you'll end up getting a game that looks like it's been rubbed on Andre the Giant's neck last week.

they may have cleaned up their act, and at those prices, it's worth a small risk. i guess that's how they stay in business.

What is New/Open Box and Value Pack ?
NEW/OPEN Box products are complete in the original packaging and are NOT used. The original packaging has been opened. Value Pack products may be in a generic box. These items have been tested, inspected and repackaged. MFG Refurbished items have been refurbished by the original manufacturer and contain the accessories as provided by the manufacturer. Whenever possible, the original packaging, documentation and software are included. However, it is possible that a small percentage of items may be missing Documentation or Software. Usually these items are available from the manufacturer or may be downloaded from the manufacturers' WEBSITE.

this is what i copied from their site..

how can a system not be used and the package is already opened???

has anyone bought a system from them before? $219 for an xbox 360 and $129 for a "new" psp sounds too good to be true!

Hmmm,

Don't care about wireless controller since I'd be playing close up to a 19" PC monitor.

Really hoping for a bigger hard drive to become available before I'm committed to one.

Don't care about headset since I'm not much for online multiplayer.

Would need VGA cable, so lack of component cable no loss. (I have access to a VGA cable for $21.)

OTOH, would need memory unit for basic save game functionality.

If this joint takes PayPal I might just go for it.

I just ordered GTA, I'll tell you guys what sort of shape it arrives in.

It says factory sealed, hopefully that's the case...

Doesnt necessarily mean the system has been used, just opened.

219 is a great price. If I bought, id wait for MS to release a bigger HD before spending 100 on a 20gb.
Im thinking about the psp...

The hard drive is necessary for a lot of stuff though, like downloading demos or Xbox live arcade games (well, I guess you can do it without a hard disk but it's a pain). And I imagine some game updates/add-ons will pretty much require it as well. Not to mention the ability to use custom sound tracks, and so forth. I personally would find the Xbox 360 to be not nearly as nice without the hard drive. That said, this is a good deal if it pans out.

why is the box opened though? it would be believable if they used it for store display purposes only.

i'd also sacrifice all those extra features for the price of the core. i'm very tempted and if they allowed paypal, at least i could file a claim if i receive a defective product.

If everything is legit, how are they making any money?

Is there any reasonable explanation for them being able to sell them at that price?

ghost recon for the 360 is 24.99 (Before shipping) but if you get two games, shipping only goes up an additional 2.00.

are they legit? man, i modded my 360 just for the hell of it and i avoid XBL as much as I can now. at this price i may get a core to play on live.

Be aware, I really would not recommend to buy from this site.
First, what they are selling are mostly refurb or open-boxed returns. And if you got a doa, they wont refund your shipping and you have to pay to ship it back. If you buy a 360 and get a DOA, you lost ~$50 for nothing.
I used to buy a $3 dollar mp3 player (with ~$10 dollar shipping), and it turned to be a DOA. I have to throw it into trash, for retunning shipping is more than $3.

Please note that the xbox 360 core on their website is listed as "New/Open Box". Which means it's a refurbished/used one at best.

gonna need to drop 99.99 more to play that game on your 360:lol:......but good deal i guess
That pic of Oblivion has a CC price tag on it. Hmmmm
I got my copy of GTA: SA. It does, in fact, have a Circuit City price tag on it.
I got my copy of GTA: SA. It does, in fact, have a Circuit City price tag on it.
but is it opened and used? what's the condition?
but is it opened and used? what's the condition?
It's sealed. I haven't opened it, but it looks like I just brought it home from CC.

Everything else I picked up from there was pretty shady looking though: Simpsons Hit'n'Run looked like a display copy, it was labeled as new/open box but there's the mark of a giant sticker previously removed on the case. A spindle of DVD-R's labeled as new/factory sealed that were actually open (ironically the label saying new/sealed is right on the spindle bottom, which would be impossible if it were sealed). A wireless mouse that I knew was a refurb so bought for the hell of it actually came broken and I fixed it, although something still rattles inside. That was 99 cents so i can't really complain.

Overall though, a very shady company that seems to sell stuff off the back of a truck. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I don't know if I would order again because their jacked up shipping seriously limits any recourse you might have.

Also, GTA: SA is up to $24.99 again.

consumerdepot has now dropped the premium down to $349. shipping is still $30 for me though. and i could've swore i saw a couple of cores back in stock but all have disappeared!

i was also wondering if ebay is a reliable place? there are literally, thousands of xbox 360s on auction. these are going about half the retail price, and are BRAND NEW AND FACTORY SEALED!!! :bouncy:

eBay itself is reliable, but there are lots of shady sellers, particularly for things like this. If it's significantly lower than retail, then there must be something suspicious going on.

Why not check out the Amazon deal where you get a free game (Gears of War or Viva Pinata)? That's a pretty darn good deal. Or wait for another good overstock.com-type deal.
Is it the PH version or regular?
Regular. It's rated M from 2005, so I wonder if it's the Hot Coffee version. I don't know how to check without playing it.

That honestly might be why they're selling them so cheap. Stores might have unloaded all their "A" rated versions of San Andreas and they swooped in and picked them up and sold them.

I got my copy of SA in the mail today, it was factory sealed, I opened it up and everything is inside, haven't tried it in my Xbox yet, but I'll assume it works.

It's not the PH version, but it does say "Second Edition" both at the bottom of the front and underneath the ESRB rating on the back. I'm assuming that means that Hot Coffee has been removed (not that I really care.)

Anyway, I'm satisfied.

That's interesting, mine doesn't say that.
