XBOX HandHeld

Hey there its two thousand and eight and we yet have to hear about a XBOX Hand held. Recently the XboX team have been leaning towards the casual market with the Gamer Face or what ever it was announced at E3. I Just want to make this prediction feel free to make your own, but i think this year during Christmas we will see a XBOX Hand held, with full XBOX Arcade Feature so you can transfer your games from your 360 over and also there will be alot of casual games on there. This prediction of mine is also a postulate. I hope this happens because wouldn't it be great to play Braid and Geometry wars and all those other games while your on the train, or taking a dumper. The Arcade Feature is almost meant to be on a hand held. oh here are some sites of previous rumors of a handheld from Team Xbox.
Any other thoughts on this?

You're not allowed to use the word "postulate" until you learn basic grammar. You also have to know what it means.

I'm very happy with my DS. A portable system from Microsoft would have to bring something really special to the table for me to consider buying one.

I dont have a portable yet, so im just waiting for the new portable to come out. Im just hoping its from Microsoft, they will probably have great games for it.

The DS and PSP pretty much have the market cornered on portables.

I can't say I'd have much interest in a portable from MS as it would likely just be 3D games that don't look or play as good as 360 games. That's useless to me since I seldom take my portables outside of the house.

I enjoyed the GBA and, to a lesser extent, the DS as they had some great 2D games I couldn't get much of on the consoles. But with the PSP and any hypothetical portable from MS it's just weaker versions of the types of games I could just go play on current consoles on my HDTV.

But I do see the appeal for people who do game on the go. I actually travel a lot, but when I fly I find I barely touch my DS and mostly either do work on my lap top, watch movies or read.

It COULD be awesome.
I'd prefer the system to be download games only. It'd be awesome to upload XBLA games you purchased to it.

But I don't know how interested I would be knowing how these 360s just...fail :(

The problem with something like ever coming out is the simple fact that Microsoft would NEED it to be successful in more places than just the North American market for them to even consider a handheld. With all of the struggles they have had gaining even a small foothold in the Asian market with the 360 I doubt they will even consider trying to launch another piece of gaming hardware. Trying to compete with Nintendo and Sony overseas in another category probably doesn't look like a sound business plan right now to them.
I'd be really surprised if Microsoft tried a handheld. They've already spent so much money forcing their way into the console market.
Yeah but now they have made more than they spent. Why not do the same with a handheld

Actually they are adding games to Zune from XBLA. However they are barely staying in the market so it no sense to get into another market.

Microsoft has profited overall with considerations to the previous generation as well?

Plus I question the comment that they've made money this gen. The 3 year warranty extension for RROD was estimated to cost them $1 billion. Hard to imagine they could make a profit if those estimates are even close.
