Hopefully this is the right forum for this.
I've been debating getting an HD-DVD player recently. Right now I have an upconvert DVD player with an HDMI cable and the picture quality is a serious improvement over regular DVDs.
With the recent announcement of a price drop for the XBOX HD-DVD player, I've been seriously considering getting it. However, I don't want to drop the money if the setup that I have (HDMI cable) is going to be just as good as HD, especially since I hear the XBOX player isn't even HDMI compatible. I'm also worried about the sound since I would be connecting the player through an XBOX and then through a speaker system. Would the surround sound be effected by this?
If anyone has any advice, please let me know. With 300 coming out this Tuesday, I want to make a decision soon.
