Xbox Limited Edition Red Controller with Play & Charge Kit ---- $41.99

Picked up the red for my girlfriend months ago and it's great. If you're on the fence about picking it up because you haven't seen it in person, the color is a vibrant, solid red. Not too light, not too dark.

...and of course, the play&charge kit is fantastic. Big money saver.

Does this red controller have the fabled 'improved' D-Pad?

I rememeber reading a while ago that it was a red controller that had a newer d-pad on it, but that may not be the same red controller as this one.

It was on sale last week, too. That's when I got mine. As far as the 'improved' D-Pad, I'm not sure. I do prefer to play with this one over the standard controller that came with my system. Both controllers are new, I've only had an XBOX for 5 days.

Anyway, the red controller 'seems' to be more responsive. Sorry I couldn't offer anything more definitive.

Is this the same Red controller that came with the Resident Evil 5 LE 360 Elite? I'm in for one if it is. Been wanting a second controller that matches the system.

I have 2 red controllers, one from the RE5 bundle and one from the standard red/play and charge kit bundle. both, seem to have the improved D-pad. I play SFIV with them for pete's sake. (who's pete anyway and how long do we have to worry about him?)

I used to have one of the black controllers, that had a wonky D-pad, this is not like the wonky D-pad.

I'm not the only one who agress but these controllers are messed up. Majority of red controller owners I've talked too all say the same thing they get messed up joy sticks. Both of mine move without me touching them and in the beginning squeaked really really loud.

Perhaps the hamster wheel inside needed a little WD-40.

Everything is made better with WD-40 and ducttape

I own this controller and my charge pack is messed up. It never seems to fully charge and even after charging for several hours loses its juice in less than an hour of playing. The two black charge-and-play controllers I have do not have this problem.

My red controller also has charging issues, so now I just use Eneloop batteries in it and it lasts 10 times as long.

I have the red controller from the RE5 bundle and here is how i see it:

Pro: It is more responsive than the white or black controllers in joystick and D-pad.

Con:
messed up joy sticks. Both of mine move without me touching them and in the beginning squeaked really really loud.
This. They squeak loudly and the right stick moves when not being touched. To be honest i haven't had a problem with it and i still use it to play games but it is an issue. I was considering buying another red one but i might just pick up the black instead, undecided at the moment.

Was a bitch playing RE5, I wouldwalk backwards while my gun would aim up in the air at the same time. Went back to my white remote and the red just collects dust. Mine was from the RE5 bundle as well

Thanks very much for this really do appreciate it! Getting this for my brother, belated birthday present!

Very tempting. I have a $10 credit burning a cyber-hole in my Amazon account, it would bring the total with tax to $34.xx.

Red or Black? Hmmm..

i hate to break it to you, but the red controller responds exactly the same way as the white and black controller, the only difference is the color...

the controller with the enhanced d-pad was never released in the US, it was only released in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and when it was released they went for a LOT on ebay...

I bought one of these red controller bundles before. I like the color, but other than that it's the same. Unfortunately the red battery pack crapped out on me after a few months of almost non-use (I only use it for multi-player stuff).
