Xbox live arcade game and profiles question

Ok, not sure how to word this exactly, but here goes.

I have Castle Crashers on my Xbox and always played it while logged in with my main profile which is the only XBox silver acct. I've also created two other profiles for my sons to use for their own save games, etc. My son wanted to play Castle Crashers, but if he's logged in under his profile, he only has the option of selecting the trial version to play, not the full game. Is the full unlocked game only playable when logged in under my profile, since that account is what was used to purchase the game? I'm a little confused by this, because it seems to me that if you buy the game it should be playable by any profile as long as it exists on the Xbox you downloaded it to.

I was thinking about getting Shadow Complex but, if these titles are only playable by one profile, than Castle Crashers was the last downloadable game I'm buying.

Thanks umm... caggers?

If you xbox 360 had RROD then just do a transfer license on xbox.com it will work after or if you plug in a controller with your profile and play with other account it will work also but I suggest the first method.

Arcade games can be played by any profile on the 360 that it is purchased on. If you move the hard drive to another 360, then you will need to be signed into LIVE with the profile you purchased the game on to play it, and only the profile that purchased the content will be able to play it. Any other profiles will see the game as a trial only.

If you've had to send your 360 in for repairs, and got a replacement, you'll have to go to your download history, and redownload the content to transfer the license to the new console. To re-download a game, hit the guide button, then go to the settings tab, then under account management, choose "download history" and find the content.

If you've got a brand new console, and sold your old one or something, you can use the license migration tool to transfer your licenses to your new console so that you can play the content offline, and on all profiles. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/licensemigration/

If you buy Shadow Complex on the console you're currently using now, all profiles will be able to play it until you move your hard drive to a different console.

Ok, I did get my RROD earlier this year and got a new one under warranty and did all the downloading again, but I didn't know about the license transfer thing. I'm going to have to try that tonight. Thanks.

hey this was actually a good question as i was wondering the same thing w multiple profiles on my console... does this work w/ DLC also? where all profiles on my console can play a DLC purchased by one of the profiles?

question.

My roommate has an 360, I don't, and he keeps it in the living room. If I buy content from marketplace through my own gamerTag, and then i decide to buy a 360 when I move out a year from now, I can do this license transfer?

I've been holding off buying arcade games because I thought it was only tied to his xbox.

Anything purchased is tied to:
#1 You Gamertag
#2 The Console it was purchased on

If you buy another Xbox, you recover your GT on the new xbox and do the license transfer. After that, your new xbox will have the content that you purchased and so will the old xbox. Both will be playable without signing in to your GT.

If you do not do the license transfer, you will only be able to use your purchased items when you're logged into xbox live on another Xbox.

You get to do 1 license transfer per year.
