Xbox Live "Deal of the Week" -- Brain Challenge

CAGiversary!
Ohhhh I remember, back in the good old days.. back then, wayyy back, Microsoft's deals of the week actually provided worthwhile discounts. Titles like Braid and Alien Hominid, making you feel like you were appreciated! You kids today, I feel sorry for you and your crappy deals! It's not your fault though, it's the rock and roll music and must-see-tee-vee. Rubbish! Gold membership just ain't what it used to be, that's f'sure.

I agree. I've got points to spend and am waiting on a good promo to get something. I missed Braid last time... wish it would come back.

I bought braid for full price when it came out. Wished I hadn't. I don't see what everyone else seems to with that game. Didn't care for it at all.
The girl friend likes games like Brain Challenge though so for 1/2 price I might have to buy it.

I bought Braid during the sale, and I find it totally frustrating when I'm unable to solve a level. However, when I do eventually crack it, I feel like a Super Genius.

Braid was totally worth it for me, even though I am currently in a "can't solve the level" period.

I thought I'd get this too.. but I saw this:
Team Xbox panned the Xbox Live Arcade version, saying, "It doesn’t take a whole lot of brain power to figure out that this is one title best left on the shelf," in its 4/10 review.[12] GameSpot's negative review (5.5/10) stated, "...Only a handful of these stand-alone minigames resemble anything of interest."

anyone else have a better opinion of this game?

I bought it for the full 800 points when it came out and wasn't as disappointed with it as those review sites were.

The single-player mode is a mixed bag (there's a fair number of mini-games but very few you'll play repeatedly on their own); what made the game for me was the multiplayer mode which got really competitive on the harder levels. When it worked, at least - the game had some of the worst netcode I've seen on XBLA. If they fixed it and you plan to play online I'd give it a recommendation and if not, I'll still recommend it but for completely selfish reasons. :p (Just to be able to find more people to play with online.)

Sweet Christmas! It looks like the deal of the week the week after next is Bionic Commando Rearmed for 400 points.
