Sorry, Ancorage is tempting. But I read that a GOTY edition will be released within the year, maybe shortly into 2010...I'll definitely be waiting for that. I can't stand to hand M$ $8-$10 for each of those add-ons.

As for the other deals, I'll likely jump on Knothole and the SF...Depends on how randy I'm feeling.
Some deals on DLC for games I actually own for once.
Same here (well, Fable 2, anyway), but I already have the DLC. I still stand by my earlier statement that these DLC deals are a complete waste of time -- if you really wanted the DLC, you'd have already bought it, not waited for a "deal" to possibly come up eventually. Even if you pay full price for your points, it's only a $3.00 savings! The only people these are good for are those who were on the fence anyway. We need less DLC deals and more deals on games!

Pulling the trigger on SF and Op Anchorage. Nice!! Glad I didnt buy SF last night like I was going to.

That's assuming that everyone buys a game on day one. I just got Civilization Revolution a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty much done with it and not interested in the DLC, but if it went on "sale" I would strongly consider it because I have points to burn.

hehe bought SF about a week after it came out... couldn't wait. Don't regret it though as I play it for at least 1 credit each time I boot the system. Worth 1200 to say nothing about 800 for it. It's a really well made remix and the music is inspired. You can actually download the soundtrack for free from Overclocked remix (the people who did the remixing). Actually, that soundtrack tipped me over the edge on the purchase now that I think about it.

I guess I'll eventually break down and get the fable 2 DLC for that price (and likely the newer one as well because they would be the same price and I'm weak willed once the ball gets rolling).

I didn't even think about the GOTY edition of fallout... thanks for reminding me. Good thing I haven't bought the game yet.

These are some great deals!

I do have a question, though. If I am not around my 360 when these deals are active, can I still get the deal through www.xbox.com? I am going on vacation during June, and I will miss two of these deals that I want.

Thanks!
Is bionic commando good, I am still on the fence whether to buy or not.
For five dollars in asking price, you can't lose either way.
Yup. That's the bonus of loading up your queue.
Thanks! I can't wait to for these deals! Now I just have to finish Fallout 3 before I get the Add-On.

I bought SF HD on day one, and is one of two XBLA game that still gets played daily (the other is Pac Man C.E.)

So you would rather pay $60 to buy the five add-ons and the game again than pay $50 for the DLC separately (minus whatever weekly deals may follow)? Unless you find Operation Anchorage tempting despite not already having the game, then yes, you're probably better off waiting.
In for Street Fighter II HD Remix. :)
I have a nutty theory. Let's just say on the week SFIITHDR is the DotW, MvC2 is also released?

cleaver: I went ahead and bit. I basically got M:UA for free when I bought the M:UA/F2 pack then traded Forza back in so I said what the hell. I actually havent played the game at all yet so it will be nice to have all characters available.

ill just wait for the gears dlc combo at the end of next month for 20 bux, and as for the fallout dlc they already announced a goty edition with all dlc included like they did with Oblivicrack!!! yay

but sf2 looks like a possibility to grab...since alot of my friends claim sf4 is to different and my whomping them doesnt count as me being good at sf...bleh

MvC2 is probably not coming until late June/early July if anything. It does have a Summer 2009 launch frame, so yeah...

only thing that bugs me about the xbla version of mvc2 is the fact that all characters are unlocked from the beginning... sad face... i felt a sence of acomplishment when i got my last character and costume!

You pretty much just made my point, though. Regardless of when you buy it (don't know when I said anything about day one) . . . Realistically, it's hard to tell when, if ever, a particular DLC will go on sale. If you really are interested in the DLC for a game, are you really going to wait around hoping that there's a sale on it eventually, in which you might save a few dollars? Or are you going to just go ahead and buy it?

So the only people they catch are people like you who sit it out because they don't really care that much one way or the other, but who will say "what the hell, why not?" when it does go on sale. Sure, there are some, of course. But how many, really, relative to the overall number of 360 owners?

It just seems to me that it's an incredibly poor marketing tactic to limit the audience for your "deals" to people that 1) own the particular game in question (because really, how many people will really go out and buy a game just because there's a deal on the DLC this week?), and 2) haven't already purchased the DLC (because, presumably, they didn't care enough about it), and 3) would still be inclined to grab it for the hell of it if it were on sale. They'd sell a lot more (and keep a much more interested audience) if their deals meant something to a larger portion of the user base. Therefore, it would make sense (I would think) to do the exact opposite of what they're doing, and focus the majority of the deals on games and the minority on DLC.

Or, as I've alternately suggested in the past, have two deals every week -- a game deal and a DLC deal. Then you've got the best of both worlds. Microsoft's probably too greedy for that, though.
Wow, those are some terrible "deals".

The Deal of the Week continues to disappoint. I scored Alien Hominid from it, but that's it so far.
QFT

Capcom needs to offer Age of Booty for 400 points to try and reinvigorate the online community.

The PC version has been on sale a couple times for $5 these past few weeks...although this probably has more to do with the fact that the PC version is broken according to the capcom-unity.com forum.

Unfortunately, no one from Capcom or Certain Affinity seems to be following through on fixing the game.
Maybe not free but they should have at least discounted it 50% last week since it's been out so long.
It's one of the reasons why Digital Distribution SUCKS!!!

Anyway I think I aleady have the Heroes/Villians Pack! Because for some reason I download it again yesterday it downloads really fast and it's done!

Hmmm?

Has the Heroes/Villians Pack been on sale BEFORE on XBL? Or, came FREE on OXM magazine?

They have the Heroes/Villains Pack Teaser where you could play with the new characters if someone else in the party bought it. That's probably what you downloaded before and it's essentially the same download. Kind of like the Trial -> Buy key you download in other XBLA games.

Looks like the Bionic Commando: Rearmed deal is live. They must be getting slammed, as it's taking forever to download (and it's only a 213mb file!). Hopefully MS will take the popularity of this one as a hint and start offering more game deals.

Despite all the bitching about DLC discounts, these look like some good deals to me and I'm in for Knothole Island. I'd pick up SFII Remix as well if I didn't already have it.

already got the Fallout3 DLC (all 3 of them) and loved them all. You really should pick them up if you enjoyed playing the game.

As for knothole island, isn't there a free version of that expansion for download? I suggest people check that out before they buy. (trialware ftw.)

I plan to bite on Bionic commando, and on Street Fighter.... at full price, i couldn't justify it, because i don't love SF THAT much, but at a discount, it's worth it.
I see it at 800 when I click your link.
just checked and it says 560 for me...are you signed in?

It doesn't give you a single-player trial of the expansion, but you have to have it to play multi-player with someone who has the full version of it (I don't know if it lets you go to the island with someone with the full version or not, didn't try it back before I bought the full version). The only thing that you get out of downloading the free version if you don't play multi-player is a few (fairly useless) items and a guy standing on the dock inviting you to buy the full version. ;)
My Xbox Live Gold just ran out, would these deals be available to me if I used a 48 hour code?
No its for online play only. My friend tried it back when they did Braid.
Operation Anchorage and Knothole Island here I come!
Yea same here man, glad I didn't pick both of these up yet. I'm still trying to get through the main game of Fallout 3 but was planning on Anchorage sooner or later.:D
just checked and it says 560 for me...are you signed in?
No, I wasn't and I've already purchased it so it very well could be. My bad. Sneaky M$ bastards, trying to pass off a price drop as a one time 'sale.'

So far this weekly 'deal' has been nothing but a disguise for giving us shit that already has no value (MUA) is soon dropping in value (GoW2 and FO3 DLC once it's available on disc) or is actually a drop that the game designer is pushing (BC:R).

At CAG we see through your BS Microsoft! For all you digital content fanboys just imagine a future with them at the helm...

I bought Fallout 3 used for $30 not too long ago and a 4000 point card for $30 from the jamaican/swift guy on eBay. I just downloaded Broken Steel and will be getting Operation: Anchorage when it comes on sale. I'm betting/hoping The Pitt goes on sale in the next couple months as well, then for the whole package I would have "spent" (after converting the points to dollars) under $45 on everything. Even if the GoTY Edition includes the next two DLC, I still would have bought everything cheaper than $60.
