The NBA Live Subscription is a thing where you can get daily updates to rosters as the players are updated according to their performances in the real world. Although at the point it'll be on sale, it's going to be playoff time I believe so I don't see that one as really worth it.

I'd get Penny Arcade if I didn't already own it. I'd say it's well worth the 800 points. I also like how they announce everything at the start of the month. It's nice to have some advance notice. Now I only wish they'd start to do that with the arcade releases more often.

I wanted to like this game more than I did, having played the demo when it first came out. But, being a PA fan, I might have to bite for $10. That is a deal.
 
I'm moderately interested in picking PA up... but since Puzzle Quest Galactrix is also coming out this week, if I pick up PA, I'm going to dip below 10k microsoft points for the first time in almost two years. Not a huge deal, but it's symbolic to me...
 
IMO Penny Arcade is a much better game than Galaxtrix, but each one has its flaws. Galaxtrix is certainly no match for the original Puzzle Quest.
 
Just wanted to remind you folks that Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode One is on sale right now for 800 MS Points.

While there could be a slight chance of a retail disc of the Penny Arcade series to be released in the future, I'm going to have to bite and I will be downloading this in a few seconds. And now we wait until May for the next round of deals.
 
I've been wanting Penny Arcade to go on sale (I was just hoping for 1200) for a while. I had to do this on my computer online, because my 360 just got the Red Rings of Death. Sigh. Now I just have to wait to play it. :(

Hehe, then Microsoft already has your money (or somebody's money), so they probably don't care if you think these are deals or not :)

Personally, I'd like to see them offer up some better stuff as well, these are all pretty weak and I think the Penny Arcade game should be 800 points by now anyway.
 
It looks like these sales are going to be weekly fixtures, so there are going to be a lot of weak deals. We're (hopefully) looking at 52 deals a year for many years.

Agree on Penny Arcade. I did pick it up last night. Now lets see if PA2 goes down sometime this year.

Oh well. I won't be buying anything in April via the "deal" of the week. I jumped on Alien Hominid. I don't know when the next purchase will come, but I bet it will be via Amazon.

I'm still flatlined that he "won" and Shrike went and fixed it. It'd be like saying you need a Sam's Club card to get a Sam's deal or an internet connection to use Buy.com

Because only wolfpup was bitching in that thread you posted then and he and another member got into a pissing match over it. It's unnecessary for these threads.
 
Overall the supposed benefit of being a gold member has been a waste for me. I dont care for any of this DLC so I see no value. Whats Gold for again?

That said, I agree that MS needs to find better benefits and more creative ways to promote Gold other than timed exclusives and mostly worthless "deals". I vote for exclusive free pics/themes and dedicated servers.

Standard pricedrops and general discounts don't require a Gold membership to take advantage of. It's just these weekly deals which seem to require Gold memberships while other promotions like Arcade Hits are for all Xbox Live members. If another Xbox Live deal pops up during one of these promotions that doesn't require a Gold membership, should a separate thread be made for deals accessable to Silver members or should they be lumped in with a thread where it's "assumed" that all deals are for Gold members only?

This is more of the equivalent of needing a Reward Zone Silver membership in order to get a deal at Best Buy, which is completely fair to point out when the deal is posted.
