Xbox Live DOTW - Far Cry 2 Fortunes Pack

That's sad for me, I waited a whole week hoping it would be an XBLA game and it's more DLC. Oh well, some people might enjoy this.
 
I'd buy it if my game wasn't glitched 30 hours into it. I can't progress the story. Even worse was that Ubisoft took 7 months to patch Farcry 2. Even though I'd love this additional DLC, I am boycotting a purchase because of the terrible support the game received after release...

That's just about every game out there. It was better before hard drives were put into consoles giving devs license to be lazy and patch bugs later. These days they can half ass it and fix it after release whenever they feel like getting around to it.

Doesn't help either that there is little to no quality control by console makers either.


No sale for me, either. The hairless monkey things killed it for me the last time. Now I just don't even want t try.
 
Well, I just picked up the game and thought about adding the fortunes pack, but for this price I guess I will. Didn't this pack start out at 800 points when it first came out? What's with the glitch 30 hours in?
 
yeah....whats the glitch 30 hours in...i think i have more than that in it already...but i dont want to buy this dlc if the game will just break soon
 
it was patched in May so if you have a save file AFTER May then you are fine. If its before then you are screwed!
 
Before I buy this, people on Major Nelson's site are complaining a lot about bugs and glitches with this game. It was next on my play list, so before I head into it, how bad is it?

its a very good game but it does get repetitive with having to drive EVERYWHERE.

Same here. Like I said last week, I'm convinced that Microsoft is costing themselves a lot of sales by restricting the deal to DLC for one title. People were excited about N+ (still pissed about missing that) and Ikaruga; for last week and this week, it's more of a "hey, that's sort of cool" kind of reaction.
 
wtf Microsoft. I was really hoping to drop some points on a title I actually wanted. I do have Far Cry 2 but I haven't even started it yet...why should I get DLC?

The game is a AAA title IMO. I strongly suggest trying it.

It's OK to have bugs in a game at release. BUT this game has game breaking bugs that corrupted all game saves and some others that glitched so that you were forced to start over. Since the game can take around 30-40 hours to complete it is very sad to see so much time wasted when this occured. On top of it all Ubisoft took 7 months to patch the game, when it takes other developers a month or two to fix major issues.

I bought the game shortly after release and waited for the patch, but my game saves could not be saved from the bugs and now I am stuck around 70%.
 
Well everyone should be happy that it got a patch. I'm still waiting on the UFC patch that killed online.

I would have also liked a xbla game other then dlc
 
I'll get this if there are associated achievements.

I don't know why I punish myself in such ways, though.
 
I haven't played my Far Cry 2 yet, but I'm in for the DLC. At 240 points, it should be well worth it. I'm extremely pleased that they patched this game a few months ago.
 
FYI for thosethat asked. There was a save glitch that could corrupt all saves at around 60% complete. I heard it has been fixed so I have the game coming from Goozex. We'll see...

No the repetitive part was taking out the same checkpoints over and over and over again.

I got it on PS3 for $5 at the Hollywood Video sale they may still have going on ($29.99 and under games are $5).

3 New Guns:
-Silenced shotgun
-Sawed-off shotgun
-Crossbow (with explosive and regular arrows)

2 New Vehicles:
-Unimog (armored truck with turret)
-Quad (ATV)

2 New Multiplayer Maps:
-Cheap Labor
-Last Resort
-Lake Smear
-Fort Fury

I haven't even started this game yet (was waiting for the patch and my backlog is huge) but I saw a video that shows off the weapons and they look pretty awesome, especially the silenced shotgun. New achievements to go with this DLC would have been nice but $3 seems pretty reasonable so I went ahead and bought it to use whenever I start the game.
