i've seen it for 100 dollars, but there's no way i'm paying that much... however, i need an adapter to play halo 2. any help?

I have this little thing that worked with my PS2-

All it does is plugs into the Ethernet port, set it right, and voila, it works like it has a direct line to the router.

I see no reason it woudn't work with XBox. I'm willing to drop it for 55 bucks.

DO NOT BUY THAT LINKSYS ADAPTER FOR XBOX LIVE ^^^^^
i had one and it stopped working after a couple months, it will not stay connected to xbox live and drop the signal constantly. I called Xbox Live support to try and resolve this but they dont support that adapter and they told me to buy the 100 dollar microsoft model. now my linksys is sitting in my closet unused.

I've used a bunch of different wireless devices for my Xbox/PS2. The Linksys WET54g (179.00), the Linksys WAP54G (79.99), they worked well, but are major wastes of money for that purpose.

Target recently reduced (read:slashed) the price of the Xbox Wireless Adapter down to about 38.98. I have two, and they work flawlessly. You need an Xbox to set them up initially, but after that, you can hook anything up to them.

I've also seen the adapter as low as 55.00 at Circuit City. If you're paying more than 60 dollars for it, you're paying too much -- keep searching for it to find it cheaper.

Is that price right? $9.98? If so, do you think you could pick one up for me? I'd gladly pay you handsomely for your trouble.

Also, with the amount of data needed to properly run an Xbox game on the net, shouldn't a wireless B be all we need? I think a wireless G is a waste of money if all you're going to do is just use it for gaming.

If one already has a wireless-G network, adding a B device will slow down the entire network.
