Kind of sucks that this $100 markup gets you a $150 controller and a bigger, faster HDD. The Halo 5 bundle is the same price, but you get a $70 controller and a $100 game ($80 with GCU). I guess those are close in value, but this thing just seems like a better deal, when you compare them both. I like the Elite controller, but $150 is insane, and I'd like the faster drive, but I want the Halo 5 stuff more.

Can't we just get the SSHD in the Halo console, since it's got that $60 markup for nothing?

 
I can trade in my old console into gamestop for 225 but just not sure about the elite controller..saw youtube videos of it and eh, it doesnt interest me like the halo controller or other controllers currently available. I want to get a better understanding about this whole SSHD drive and how it supposedly will make the system run "20 percent faster" will games actually load and run faster or do they mean only when the system is in sleep mode the system itself will load 20 percent faster..just want to have a better idea if its even worth waiting til November or I can just get the HALO console coming out in October

 
I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the pro controller. I know there have been third party options in the past but it seems like an unfair advantage even more so now as thie pro controller will be more widely available than third party devices. Im about to suck in fps games even more than I do now once this comes out.

Basic explanation:

SSHDs have a small cache of flash memory, usually 8 GB. The drive is smart enough to recognize the frequency with which things are accessed on it, and it'll keep that stuff in the flash memory buffer, so start-up times can be improved. So, if you're one to play a single game at a time, it'll load up faster than on the base HDD, as the drive will learn to keep that data at the ready on the flash stuff.

Yeah I only play a single game at a time, so if that game is being played for example, from the external drive, the SSHD drive will still notice that and load the game quicker? Sounds good I just really dont care for the controller that is the only thing that has me on the fence about upgrading to the elite bundle..the Halo bundle looks nice but I dont care for digital versions of games I like discs

The boot-up process and other X1 operating system tasks will likely be sped up since they'll be accessed repeatedly and often.

A single game isn't likely to be in the cache completely, though parts of it may be in the cache and sped up. A non-retail game might fit in the SSD cache.

There are three likely candidates for the SSHD in the Elite X1. One may be this Seagate:

Western Digital has two of them:

Well, boot up is going to really only be the matter of consequence. It's not like games stutter waiting for the games to load from the drive while you're playing. It's about getting the game up and running faster, and this will get that done.

Boot up will be quicker, yes. Repeated OS operations will be faster. Beyond that, it's a guess as you'd have to test a 1TB non-Elite versus a 1TB Elite system to really see differences.

Guess we will have to wait and see to see comparisons of a regular xbox one and the sshd version to see if there is any visible difference..I really just dont care for the elite controller it looks weird, how you can take parts of it apart and those little silver things in the back of the controller, dont know how that will feel in my hand..the HALO bundle looks cool(I assume the design its just a skin? but I dont care for a digital version of the game I prefer disc..I would like to upgrade to a 1TB console since that plus my 4TB external drive means I will never have to run out of room(Especially since pretty soon xbox 360 games will be able to run on the xbox one) so not sure what to go with

The controller doesn't add skill...and I personally don't see the point in them cause Its still not a mouse ;)

I wouldn't bank on that if I were you. At the bottom of the GS page:

* Halo 5: Guardians coming 10/27/15; Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, Fable Legends, and Quantum Break coming late 2015; all games sold separately.

I was going to bite at OP but upon further review I'm pretty sure it's gameless. Just trying to help.

Im going to wait to see how the elite controller feels..it comes out on October 27th so I will go check it out..the way that it looks I dont know, doesnt appeal to me. I want a 1TB XBOX ONE(To go along with my 4TB external drive) from what I hear, all 1TB drives are faster than the 500GB hard drive xbox one's that we got on release day. I like the way the HALO bundle looks just dont care for the digital version of the game, I prefer disc
