Xbox One "Sleep Mode"

Hey guys,

Pretty new to the Xbox One and loving it so far. However, when I hold the logo down on the controller and select "shut console off" it doesn't seem to turn back on unless I power reset it via the console itself.

How are you supposed to resume it from sleep mode? Just press the logo on the controller? Am I not waiting long enough for it to boot up? Sorry for the 21 questions but I feel dumb for not being able to figure it out!

for it to go into sleep mode you gotta do the "Xbox turn off" command then you can do the "Xbox, on" command to turn it back on

I don't have Kinect connected. Is that seriously the only way you can wake it up...?

Well yes how else would the Xbox hear you?

You can turn it on with the controller too. Just hold the button down for a few seconds. Make sure you have all the power settings turned on under settings so that you can say Xbox turn on and what not as well

The system should go in sleep mode regardless if you use the Kinect or not, not sure what these two are talking about. I just tested it by turning the console on with the controller then loaded up a game, turned it off with the controller then back on again and after signing in I was at the same point before it was off.

To boot the console again either hold the controller logo button for a bit, or you can use the face button on the console itself, not sure why it isn't working with your controller, maybe try taking the battery out and in or making sure it's synced.
