Does that mean it wouldn't be possible to fix a battery pack that doesn't work at all? If so I could try opening up mines and replacing it with my own batteries. One of mines doesn't even charge anymore.

I used to be pretty hot on the Play and Charge kits, but over time (a 16-24 months) neither pack would hold a charge, and I ended up using them as wired controllers (since I was permanently connected to the 360). Made it a bit of a nuisance, and maybe my expectations are unrealistic, but I had hoped for better performance for longer. I've converted to using rechargeable batteries, and get more life, and more value out of them.

My battery pack died. Is there any way to remove the batteries from the pack and replace them?
If you keep unplugging it and plugging it back in, eventually it'll charge properly. I'm sure the batteries in it are just cheap so you end up buying another kit.
