Xbox Retail Site (MechAssault 2)

tenzor

CAGiversary!
I was wondering if anyone else who works in retail with videogames tried to get mechassault 2 on the retail site. I just got off work, and haven't been able to check all day,but its still not on the site. So I was just wondering if I missed it and its all gone, or microsoft just simply didn't add it in the prize shop yet. Thanks.

Tenzor, I'm a member of that too and I've been checking regularly. Games are not removed from the list when out of stock, they just state next to them that they're, well, temporarily out of stock. I'm just hoping I can get in on the first batch once it's added since I've been looking forward to it.

I've been checking the retail site constantly since Tuesday, and MS still hasn't added it to the prize shop. Also strange, they took Halo 2 off of the prize shop too. Maybe they're planning to offer MA2 the same time they're going to offer Halo 2 next week?

Also, they haven't said whether or not they're going to give away the limited edition or just the regular edition MA2. I checked out the LE version from my work, and the only difference between the regular and the LE is the cover (it's all nice and shiny with "Limited Edition" on it) and a second disc which contains the two extra downloadable maps and a poorly-compressed episode of G4's "Making of MA2."

thanks for the quick response guys. I dont care if its the LE or not, we are still getting it for free (without shipping). If you guys see it in stock, please post in this thread. I will do the same

i know that this store allows you to get games for cheap if you are part of the retail buisness. I recently got a job at CC and was wondering the site so i can purchase. Please let me know and i hopew it isnt much trouble.

yeah if you work at CC, you can use the Xbox Retail site and the Pc Retail site. just go here http://retail.microsoft.com/retail/xbox/default.asp and sign up. The PC retail site has some cool comptuer software and gear that you can get. Basically all you do is take quizzes and get points for them and you use your points in the prize shop to redeem games, software, clothing etc. When you sign up make sure you know your store number and stuff because they ask for it (so they can verify if you work there or not)

Hit up www.microsoft.com/retail then click on Xbox retail. Click on retail training then click training in the top banner. It should ask you for information about your store location for confirmation. You get points for each quiz you take then redeem the points for games. Only in America!

has anyone notice they have been lowering the points down? Earlier today I saw games for 100 points (wacked, azuri, nfl fever 04, nba id 04) they were bonus items however and you have to order something else to add them in. They also had games for like 250 points (Amped, Quan. Redshift Racing and a few others). I hope they add xbox accessories again to the retail site.

Ye, but they give less points for quiz points.
If I work at Wal-Mart, do I qualify for this program?
yeah

I know there is a site that list the answers to the xbox training site, but is there a site that list the answers to the PC Retail site?

I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart has some ludicrous rule that prevents employees from participating in third-party promotions such as this. Just ask your manager, and I'm sure they can tell you.

Yeah this is petty gay, I can do the quizzes... But since I work at Wal-Mart, I cannot have access to the prize shop. I truly hate Wal-Mart even more now. Check this out.

Unfortunately, due to current Wal-Mart SuperCenter policy, employees of Wal-Mart SuperCenter are not eligible to participate in the Xbox Prize Shop. We're working with Wal-Mart SuperCenter headquarters to devise an alternative and hope to have a solution in the near future. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Blah :(

Man, I hate being right. :x

Did you guys have to email proof of employment? It worked for me the first time I ordered then they told me I have to submit a copy of a paystub by email. Just wondering...

Did you just say you worked at a bestbuy or something like that? If so, I'm just going to change my employer from Wal-Mart to CC.

Yeah I used to and I tried to cheat the system and it worked the first time, but he second time I ordered they requested a paystub copy emailed to them... :(

SUCKA.

Someone please post when MA2 is on the site.
damn....i only got 300 now. Im gonna stock up. Do they charge shipping
They charge a "Processing fee", which is usually about 8 or 9 bucks. But that's all you have to pay.

how many points wil MA cost?
1200 prolly.
Thanks, I just quit Wal-Mart and now I'm working at Bestbuy. I have 300 points so far, so I'm off to do some quizzes before they start giving out MA2. Thanks for the heads up on the point total for it.
wow awesome. im excited. when should MA be up?
Noone knows, but I have a hunch that it will be up the same time that Halo 2 is.

And, before you ask, that's January 3rd.
lol.....hey is there a site that has the answers to these games surveys?
its basically a open book test, you can refer back and fourth from the quiz and the reading. Its not that hard if you cant find a site that gives the answers
I work at blockbuster, that wouldn't work for this, would it?
you should be able to, just go to the link on the front page and sign up. During the sign up process it will ask what retail store you work at , and if blockbuster is on their then you are good to go. I am pretty sure gamerush is on their, do you work at a BB w/ a gamerush?

Yeah, where is that site that has the answers? I mean, I can always read the info and answer the quizzes perfectly for full points, but, you know, that takes effort :)

i had to quit working at eb about 2 weeks ago and i know the site gives you a 7 day grace period to keep using the site. would i still be able to get away with the deals or would they actually know that i no longer work for EB?

Gees.. you poor poor people having to read and answer questions for a New Game. Just read and answer the stupid questions. I cant believe the nerv to ask for a site with the answers lol. As if it wasn't easy enough.

Just a warning for those trying to cheat the system by saying they work for a retailer, or used to work for a retailer and are still using their information on the site. Like a few people said up above, they WILL check their information to see if you're still employed there.

One of my friends who used to work for Gamestop tried to use the site a few weeks after he left, and while he was still able to get the game, afterwards they found out he was not working for GS and they charged him the full retail price for the game, I believe in addition to the processing fee they charged the first time. Remember, they have your credit card info and you home address for when you made the order, so they WILL charge you if they find out you're lying.

Very true folks. I remember having to argue this point along with JSweeney around the time that I first joined this site.

what happends if you generate a unique one time use credit card number and put $1.00 as a limit and make the card expire at the end of the month?

Que? Sounds like they could pin you for CC fraud on that.

Its a legit credit card, I have a program called shopsafe that will generate unique numbers with a dollar limit and expiration date of my choice. So it wouldn't necessarly be fraud. I just won't be allowing them to charge for $1.00 to my card.

Does it create the numbers through a major CC company, like VISA or MC? I believe you have to use a CC or check card from a major CC company.

When you complete the order, they actually check your credit card account and charge you immediately. I know this because I tried to make an order when I didn't have enough money in my account and it wouldn't go through. After I had the money my order went through just fine.

Of course, you could try and go through the trouble of buying one of those Visa gift cards and put just enough on there for shipping. But then again, who knows if those cards will work on the site? Also, I think when you make one of those Visa gift cards at certain retailers and banks, they take down your name, address, all that info. One more thing, the game MUST go to a physical address, no PO Boxes. So expect a physical bill to show up if they cant get your credit card.

In short, if you try to fraud them, they've got many ways to get ahold of you. Fraud is bad, m'kay?

5. Payment & Taxes. Only valid credit or debit cards acceptable to Microsoft at this Site may be used to order Rewards. By submitting your Rewards order for processing, you authorize Microsoft to charge the card you designate for all shipping, handling, a Site program fee, and any other amounts shown to you before you submit your order to your card. If your card cannot be verified, is invalid, or is not otherwise acceptable, your order will be suspended automatically and we will send you an email notice as described in the section of this Agreement labeled "Electronic Communications; Notices." You must resolve any problem within the time stated in the notice or your order will be cancelled without further notice. You are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes, including without limitation federal and state income taxes, on the value of any Rewards items you may acquire under this Agreement.

Sounds like the worse that can happen is that I will get my order cancelled without notice. Oh well.
