[CUSTOMSPOILER="General Info"]
Q. What is MyPunchcard?
A. MyPunchcard is a part of the Xbox LIVE Rewards program open to all members. Through MyPunchcard, Xbox LIVE Rewards members can get rewarded for performing a specific set of actions outlined in the Punchcard for each offer. Once all punches are earned on a specific Punchcard, get rewarded!

Q. Who is eligible for MyPunchcard?
A. All Xbox LIVE Rewards members are eligible to participate in MyPunchcard. To start earning punches for completing specific actions, join Xbox LIVE Rewards now for free if you haven’t already: http://rewards.xbox.com.

Q. How does MyPunchcard work?
A. Each Punchcard has a set amount of punches required in order to complete it. Once a specific action is completed and a punch is earned, it can take up to 96 hours for it to appear on the MyPunchcard page. Xbox LIVE Rewards members are only eligible to receive a Reward once all punches have been earned and the entire Punchcard is complete. There is a limit of one Reward per one completed Punchcard, unless otherwise noted.

Q. Where can I find the available Punchcards?
A. To check out the available Punchcards, log into the Xbox LIVE Rewards site and visit the MyPunchcard page. The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary.

Q. Do Punchcards expire?
A. Yes. Once a Punchcard expires, no further punches will be provided for actions completed after that date. Expiration dates for each Punchcard vary and are listed on the MyPunchcard page found here.

Q. I completed a Punchcard! How do I claim my Reward?
A. If the Reward is Microsoft Points, they will appear under Pending on your MyRewards page by the 15th of the following month. If the Reward is anything other than Microsoft Points, an email will be sent to your contact email listed here with instructions to redeem your Reward. The Rewards for completion of a Punchcard will vary with each Punchcard offer. Rewards will not be provided during the Punchcard offer period.

April's PlaytoEarn Punchcard
Check your status - May take 3-5 days to update
XBLA DLC purchases do not count toward the April Punchcard - source

Cornelius's list of sources for last-minute XBLA purchase ideas:
  • The Wikipedia page for XBLA releases, sorted by MSP.
  • Xbox.com's sorted list of best-selling XBLA titles.
  • Major Nelson's most-recent list of top 20 XBLA games purchased.
  • The Twisted Pixel bundle ... seriously, it's 3600 MSP worth of games for 800 MSP!
  • The DOTW for April 30th, listed on our OP, as well as Major Nelson's blog, which will go live around 4/30 @ 2am PDT, and be valid for 14-15 hours up through the promo's deadline between 4pm-5pm'ish PDT (depending how they've configured the reporting servers to account for GMT).
Note I was going to also suggest the "Angry Birds Trilogy" sale starting 4/30, but since it's a GoD title, it doesn't count.
  • Games your friends have picked up. Use the "Compare Games" feature on their profile, which will list their games in order of most-recently played by default.
  • Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court.
  • Games NOT found on compilation discs, because you can often find them "cheap" on eBay or used-game retailers. See this XBLA thread post (under "XBLA Discs") for more info & lists.
  • And finally, TylerH1701's list of XBLA games yet to go on sale
Hope this helps anyone's last-minute purchase dilemma. ;)

FAQ:
_________________________________________________

Q: So what is this and how much does it cost?
A: Xbox Rewards is a free loyalty program run by ePrize for the Microsoft Corporation. They offer free and Gold Xbox Live members "rewards" for completing survey, making qualified purchases, or other actions during a specified period.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You should start by reviewing the official FAQ. Once you are done there, and you have decided to join, you are ready to start earning rewards.

Q: I never got my reward for my first purchase after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ. You will only earn that reward for your first purchase from the marketplace ever. If you made a purchase before joining the program, you are out of luck.

Q: I never got my reward for activating Netflix after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ and some discussion with @XboxSupport You will only earn that reward for the first time you ever activate Netflix on your specific gamertag. If you did that before joining the program, you are out of luck. If you are still good, you have to have had Netflix activated for 1 month and have watched 2+ hours of streaming content during that time period.

Q: When will this end?
A: According to the official T&C, the program is scheduled to end at 3:59 p.m. GMT on June 30, 2012. It is possible that the program will be renewed or go after that, but there hasn't been more info on that yet.

Q: Will my Xbox LIVE Rewards Points expire?
A: Rewards Points do expire, so be sure to use them by June 30, 2012.

Q: How do I use my expiring Microsoft Points first?
A: Promotional points with expiration dates are automatically redeemed first before purchased points. [source]

I am sad that I did not see Castlevania: Harmony of Despair DLC confirmed, I would take this opportunity to get the additional characters and music packs. From the forum link post, it seems like they only addressed the base game but not the DLC .

I'm still holding out for confirmation of Deathsmiles 2X so I can knock out the reward offer in one hit. A F.E.A.R. 2 DLC and/or Plants Vs. Zombies table for Pinball FX2 would help in giving me more items to try to add up to the 2000MSP total. Slowly but surely, as more confirmations to eligible game marketplace items appear, can I actually take the plunge.

EDIT: Also I knew I should have waited until the 1st to purchase Crysis, Jet Set Radio, MVC3:FTW Costume Pack, and the Marvel: Avengers Chronicles and Captain America tables for Pinball FX2 ... because the MyAchievements rewards begins on that date. I'm hoping more confirmations means I can take advantage of the 2% rewards returns ...
The birthday gift is 20MSP. Someone on another forum has got theirs pending...

LOL... so they were right. it is worth 25 cents... between that and the 2% back on purchases, I'm swimming in points now.
Confirming this. My birthday was on the 1st. Checked my e-mail earlier and saw I got an e-mail from Xbox Live Rewards about a gift for my birthday...which was 20 MSP.

I found it extremely hilarious since I don't even have a 360 anymore and just the thought that the "sweet surprise" (as written in the e-mail) is the equivalent of a quarter. Heck, I didn't even know Xbox Live Rewards was a thing. Looked into and apparently the site claims the 3000G reward is the 20 MSP for your birthday and you need Gold to unlock them. Which is funny since I haven't had Gold since I got rid of my 360 earlier last year.

That and there's this: Birthday Gift (approximate retail value ("ARV"): $0.25 USD)
for the october horror rewards promo. would the resident evil 4 and code veronica code x redeem codes work for this?
Again I have to tell you, that NONE of the codes are eligible to get the promo points...you can't use codes for Xbox Rewards EVER! (do not confuse them with rewards like the SoA Promo, because this had nothing to do with Xbox Rewards...)

that's odd. I remembered you had to manually enroll into the Rewards program. Being a Gold member doesn't automatically put you into the rewards program. maybe the email is to entice you to enroll as well?

XBLA - Pinball FX 2's "Nightmare Mansion" Table surely must be "horror themed."

Hope we find out before the end of the month. Didn't plan on taking part of this but looking at my personal "Want List," I'm about 400 points shy of 2,000 anyway.might as well find something else to bump it up.

I inquired a few days ago with a list of additional content that may be eligible but the only response I've gotten was that he'd pass the list along, no definitive answer regarding any of my possible qualifying items as Juice received.

I'll update if they ever get back to me with a concrete yes or no.

Noooooo, Deathsmiles 2X has been refused for the October reward offer. I guess it is expected since it has more of a Christmas theme than horror theme. I had really hoped I could just knock out the October reward offer with just that one purchase, and now I will continue to wait for a better opportunity to get any sort of discount on it. I will try to edit the OP to reflect the revealed information that both games in the series do not qualify by the forums (by XBLRewards5).

Now I hope the Plants Vs. Zombies table for Pinball FX2, the DLC characters and music packs for Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, and the F.E.A.R. 2 DLC to even consider a combination of potential purchases which could actually take advantage of the reward offer. I really do hope for some confirmations soon, I do want to make some purchases.

EDIT: Despite the OP listing The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai as a non-qualifier, I thought I saw on the forums that it did apply to the reward offer. Just saying the OP may have this title listed incorrectly.

EDIT 2: I changed the OP to show The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai as eligible based on this link

I do. I received (or rather, pending) my awesome shiny quarter.

Just received confirmation from XBLRewards5 on the Rewards Forum, that both Alan Wake DLCs "The Signal" & "The Writer" qualify for the October promotion (which I'm sure most would have guessed)......but also confirmation of the Indie game, "Decay"....which has 4 parts. (All 4 parts are confirmed = 800pts)

So if you were to purchase everything together, (as of today with no sales/discount of either game), you will spend 1,920pts.

Enjoy Gamers !

Good to know Tar. I'm still awaiting confirmation on my proposed items, though the way my correspondent worded his reply I'm not sure if anything is coming.
just for clear confirmation if i buy points at toysrus then redeem the code and buy horror stuff it will not count? or will it?
When people talk about "redeeming codes" and if they qualify, they're talking about download codes they've bought or traded that allow them to specifically download games/content, ie. a specific code for Joust would not qualify as having "purchased" Joust for such things as Xbox Rewards.

Buying and redeeming a "code" for Microsoft Points then using those points to purchase games/content is standard-operating-procedure.

Well my inquire was finally answered http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_rewards_support/f/29/t/350349.aspx

Heres some additions for the confirmed list of eligible October rewards titles.

  • Dead Space Ignition
  • Dead Space
  • Dead Space 2
  • Fear 2
  • Alan Wake
  • Castlevania Harmony of Despair

And here are a couple confirmed as NOT eligible

Splatterhouse
Pinball FX Plants vs Zombies Table
Costume Quest

Now granted I clearly understand why the pinball table and Costume Quest aren't eligible as it was a longshot at best, but I have to say I'm disappointed Splatterhouse has been omitted. I was finally going to bite on its DLC.

Oh well.

Wow Splatterhouse isnt included?

Im assuming both Dishwasher games are included in OCT promo? Which one came first?

I have purchased TWD epi 2, 3, and 4 now... so that puts me at 1200... I might just bite on the dead rising games. Any suggestions from fellow CAGs out there?

also, to the user who complained about C:HoD... it and ALL of its DLC, Avatar items (if any), gamer pics, and themes DO count... or am I not understanding the rules too well?

Can anyone tell me what xtra characters in C:HoD ARENT doubles of other characters?

The Game and its DLC all count. As for pics and themes I would assume so, but its entirely possible they don't.

As for the characters, none of them are carbon copy doubles, but some play extremely similar with very minor differences.

Heres a short rundown I found with a quick google search

Thank you sir... are you still playing HoD or Borderlands?

... I need to give CS a rest for a couple of days

i think we played Borderlands 1 for like an hour a week or so ago

Costume Quest is not eligible? What the hell? lol (I already got the game and DLC long ago but still...it's Halloween themed...there couldn't be any better game, right? lol

The theme is Horror, not halloween. Costume Quest is sweet and charming, complete opposing end of the spectrum. It was just a longshot we had hoped to see slide courtesy of the reward teams odd qualifications. (i.e. Pinball tables for the sport month)

Splatterhouse is the one that should easily fit but doesn't.

I know but still there's an unbreakable bond between Horror and Halloween...right? .__. (at least in my head xp) *sigh* haven't found anything yet I could spend points on because already own the most eligble content lol

As a jilted fan of the first DR (idea was pretty revolutionary at the time, but damnit those survivors were wet blankets), I really dug the XBLA game DEAD RISING: CASE ZERO. It's a prequel to the full retail sequel, Dead Rising 2, and a really good taste of the modded engine from the first one. The big draw is that you get to carryover some of your XP as well as your outfit and weapon combo cards into DR2 via gamesave. If you play it straight-on, no-turning-back, no-redo style, you'll get about 2 hours out of it. I went for 100% cheevos and boosted my character to the max and got about 8 hours, if not more. Well worth it, if you ask me.
Wonder if Catherine would count? :)
Relationships are pretty horror-ish, aren't they?

I saw next week Zombie Driver HD comes out, so figured I'd go and ask about that.

Finally decided to bite on The Walking Dead, since getting all 4 episodes would net me the rebate. I was planning to wait until they offered some package deal for all the episodes, but I've heard such good things, I couldn't wait any longer.

no. do bing. fastest way to get 100 msp, or change your birthday to 10/13 and hope microsoft gives you 20 msp for your birthday from that new "program".

Reminder, the VP debate is tonight, if you're aiming to earn the Halo avatar armor! :D

Someone posted a HUGE wish-list of some good "fringe" items over in the forums. :)

I already responded that he should trim out some of the "known" items from our thread, but I'll definitely be merging in the other items into the "maybe" or "maybe not" sections whenever I get to it. Here's his original list ...

Update ... done ... check the OP for latest updates.

Agreed ... with Bing Rewards, you'll have the points within 7 days. However, I didn't think you could change your birthday, since it's hooked into both the ratings system, as well as the billing system, and those are closely monitored to avoid having minors accessing mature/unrated content.
is there a script or tool that will do the daily bing searches for you (for mac)?
I'm happy to give Bing about 60 seconds of my time, thus improving the odds I won't get kicked out, since I'm logged in with a real account that I use every day. Here's my steps that are 100% compliant to their rules:
  1. You obviously won't use IE for any REAL browsing, so go ahead and use IE for "bing" Rewards. I also keep it the default search engine, so they don't keep interrupt my searches.
  2. Obviously install the Bing Bar, since this will tell you when the next crop of searches can be done.
  3. Click on the reward star, and cash in the "1 point" offers.
  4. Go to Bing's homepage (click on the big "bing" logo), and click on the left-most "square" on the pic-of-the-day.
  5. Click on "Web" if it's not already the active "tab" at the top for the search item.
  6. When the results come up, there will be 10 related searches to the far right. With your mouse, middle-click on all but the last item to open new tabs for each of those related searches.
  7. On the last item, click on it to refresh the current tab ... and middle-click the new group of related searches.
  8. If you're not presented with a list of related searches, close that tab, because you have 30-50 other tabs with other related searches to click. :D
  9. Once you've given Bing the required number (for me, I'm currently getting 1 point per 2 searches), shut down IE, and move on with your life.
It takes only 5 or so pages of "related searches" to fill up all 15 points they'll give me. Each page takes about 5 seconds. Therefore, I never spend more than 60 seconds doing this, with the only part sucking is "as long as I remember to do it".

Others have macro'ized solutions, but this works fine for me.

Thanks for the bing info, I'm gonna try and do that
Despite the OP listing The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai as a non-qualifier, I thought I saw on the forums that it did apply to the reward offer. Just saying the OP may have this title listed incorrectly. I changed the OP to show The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai as eligible based on this link
Nobody has a stranglehold on the OP, and honestly, if it's in the "definitely not" section, then I really did see the Xbox Rewards staff either expressly knock it out, or it was left out of a list of qualifying items. Glad to see they added it, though ... now we just need an answer on "TD:VS". :D
Games on Deman Ghostbusters doesnt count?
Where'd you see that? I just did a scrape of the Xbox Forums, and only found 2 open questions with no answers either knocking it out, or otherwise "excluding" it. So until you get an answer back, post a question in the Xbox Rewards Questions forum, and report back, soldier!

And I am done for the night, having searched on all the "maybe" titles just for good measure. I'll be back to the thread in a few days to catch-up, if nobody else gets busy with the OP, but remember this is a crowd-sourced group effort, and everybody wins when more people take part!

BTW, if you post at the Xbox Rewards forum, be sure to give yourself & other fellow CAG'ers 5 stars on their replies (ahem (cough) including me aka "Yukon Cornelius"), so that the system won't think those responses are undeserved. I'm even giving 5-stars to the Xbox Rewards staff when they answer questions, just to keep my own ranking within the system high enough that I'm not considered "trolling". Just an inside tip from someone who's handled BBS's before. :D

How did you go about easily seaching the forums for those threads? Am I missing something right in front of me?
Anyone have any opinions or input on XBLIG's Decay Series who have played it?
It's pretty good for an indie horror title. The game plays a lot like older, exploratory PC games, such as Myst. You travel around in first-person perspective, picking up clues and solving a mystery. Cut-scenes are also included, but the quality isn't that great due to the file size limitations on indie games at the time the first few were released. The lack of music and disturbing images all lend a hand to the eerie atmosphere. The only downside is that it's in four parts; Part 1 only costs $1, but the others cost $3 and I couldn't justify an entire $10 on it at the time. I have only played the first game and the demo to the second.

I signed up a week ago but never got a confirmation... only the email that says it can take up to 48 hours for them to set up my account. anyone else had this issue?
How did you go about easily seaching the forums for those threads? Am I missing something right in front of me?
Who said it was easy? I'm just using terms like each game's name, or "horror", or "promotion", or "2000". As long as I'm searching at least every week, then I can use the "advanced search" to limit the results down to "only" several pages of results of people asking if they're in the program yet, or if it's their birthday yet, or a myriad of other lame questions. :)

BTW, decided I'd better get the "likely" list inputted into the forums, since last week was entirely unproductive when it came to confirmed answers. Hopefully they'll invest some decent time this week, including specifically about Metro 2033. Still crossing fingers that a DOTW will have some relevant content, and it will be good to have the answers to likely titles beforehand.
