[CUSTOMSPOILER="General Info"]
Q. What is MyPunchcard?
A. MyPunchcard is a part of the Xbox LIVE Rewards program open to all members. Through MyPunchcard, Xbox LIVE Rewards members can get rewarded for performing a specific set of actions outlined in the Punchcard for each offer. Once all punches are earned on a specific Punchcard, get rewarded!

Q. Who is eligible for MyPunchcard?
A. All Xbox LIVE Rewards members are eligible to participate in MyPunchcard. To start earning punches for completing specific actions, join Xbox LIVE Rewards now for free if you haven’t already: http://rewards.xbox.com.

Q. How does MyPunchcard work?
A. Each Punchcard has a set amount of punches required in order to complete it. Once a specific action is completed and a punch is earned, it can take up to 96 hours for it to appear on the MyPunchcard page. Xbox LIVE Rewards members are only eligible to receive a Reward once all punches have been earned and the entire Punchcard is complete. There is a limit of one Reward per one completed Punchcard, unless otherwise noted.

Q. Where can I find the available Punchcards?
A. To check out the available Punchcards, log into the Xbox LIVE Rewards site and visit the MyPunchcard page. The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary.

Q. Do Punchcards expire?
A. Yes. Once a Punchcard expires, no further punches will be provided for actions completed after that date. Expiration dates for each Punchcard vary and are listed on the MyPunchcard page found here.

Q. I completed a Punchcard! How do I claim my Reward?
A. If the Reward is Microsoft Points, they will appear under Pending on your MyRewards page by the 15th of the following month. If the Reward is anything other than Microsoft Points, an email will be sent to your contact email listed here with instructions to redeem your Reward. The Rewards for completion of a Punchcard will vary with each Punchcard offer. Rewards will not be provided during the Punchcard offer period.

April's PlaytoEarn Punchcard
Check your status - May take 3-5 days to update
XBLA DLC purchases do not count toward the April Punchcard - source

Cornelius's list of sources for last-minute XBLA purchase ideas:
  • The Wikipedia page for XBLA releases, sorted by MSP.
  • Xbox.com's sorted list of best-selling XBLA titles.
  • Major Nelson's most-recent list of top 20 XBLA games purchased.
  • The Twisted Pixel bundle ... seriously, it's 3600 MSP worth of games for 800 MSP!
  • The DOTW for April 30th, listed on our OP, as well as Major Nelson's blog, which will go live around 4/30 @ 2am PDT, and be valid for 14-15 hours up through the promo's deadline between 4pm-5pm'ish PDT (depending how they've configured the reporting servers to account for GMT).
Note I was going to also suggest the "Angry Birds Trilogy" sale starting 4/30, but since it's a GoD title, it doesn't count.
  • Games your friends have picked up. Use the "Compare Games" feature on their profile, which will list their games in order of most-recently played by default.
  • Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court.
  • Games NOT found on compilation discs, because you can often find them "cheap" on eBay or used-game retailers. See this XBLA thread post (under "XBLA Discs") for more info & lists.
  • And finally, TylerH1701's list of XBLA games yet to go on sale
Hope this helps anyone's last-minute purchase dilemma. ;)

FAQ:
_________________________________________________

Q: So what is this and how much does it cost?
A: Xbox Rewards is a free loyalty program run by ePrize for the Microsoft Corporation. They offer free and Gold Xbox Live members "rewards" for completing survey, making qualified purchases, or other actions during a specified period.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You should start by reviewing the official FAQ. Once you are done there, and you have decided to join, you are ready to start earning rewards.

Q: I never got my reward for my first purchase after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ. You will only earn that reward for your first purchase from the marketplace ever. If you made a purchase before joining the program, you are out of luck.

Q: I never got my reward for activating Netflix after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ and some discussion with @XboxSupport You will only earn that reward for the first time you ever activate Netflix on your specific gamertag. If you did that before joining the program, you are out of luck. If you are still good, you have to have had Netflix activated for 1 month and have watched 2+ hours of streaming content during that time period.

Q: When will this end?
A: According to the official T&C, the program is scheduled to end at 3:59 p.m. GMT on June 30, 2012. It is possible that the program will be renewed or go after that, but there hasn't been more info on that yet.

Q: Will my Xbox LIVE Rewards Points expire?
A: Rewards Points do expire, so be sure to use them by June 30, 2012.

Q: How do I use my expiring Microsoft Points first?
A: Promotional points with expiration dates are automatically redeemed first before purchased points. [source]

cool, have been hoarding a bunch of MP, so I think I'll finally blow them and get the free 800. I'm thinking Minecraft, Fez, and Pacman:CEDX; Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet; RB Blitz; or something on sale to top me off. More food for the backlog monster

Has anyone had any luck with finding the first code? It's supposed to be on the Xbox Rewards site but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I want to tell you but it's so very, very easy to find, I almost want to let you find it yourself. Eh, screw it. "Explore"

This also has me scratching my head.

Maybe the code will be revealed on April 1st? It looks like they've added the April offers to the site early (ie. "MyPunchcard").

See my comment above. Code is "Explore". Very easy to find. There is only one thing Tomb Raider on the main page. Checking right there is always a good start.

The scavenger hunt is starting this week since it ends a little early (April 20th)

And the code is "Explore" as Brash_Attack pointed out above ^
Still not sure how he found that, since the only places I've seen the word Explore don't make it seem like it would be a secret code.

I still don't see the word "Explore" anywhere on the site, but thanks!

So to clarify...to get all of the april rewards I have to: Play 20 Hours of Arcade Games, Buy 4 Arcade Games which are at least worth 400 MSP and spend 3200 MSP on Arcade Games alltogether right?

Only question now is, if DLC for Arcade Games does count too...if so I would probably buy some of that since I've been waiting for some to drop the price forever...

Added the secret code "explore" to the OP. Wasn't sure of the best place to put it, so I put it in the quoted section from the Rewards FAQ but in green to make it stand out.

Also, someone asked on the forums about Arcade DLC for the April Punchcard. Hasn't been answered yet, but I'll keep an eye on it and the Rewards Twitter and update the OP if it's confirmed one way or the other.

No, DLC doesn't count. It needs to be an XBLA game, as it says in the "April's PlayToEarn Punchcard" rules: http://rewards.xbox.com/faq/#mypunchcard

You've got all of April to buy 4 XBLA games (of 400 MSP or more) so just hold your pants on :)booty:) to see what "April Fools Day" & other DOTW's bring.

I don't think there are any arcade titles that I want. Bought a bunch earlier this year that kinda summed up my collection for the most part.

Any suggestions?

The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom is extremely underated IMO. Bought it when it was 200MP and LOVED the heck out of it! I haven't purchased a ton of XBLA games, but some demos that impressed me:

  • Mark of the Ninja
  • Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
  • Bastion
  • Pacman CE: Deluxe
  • Fez
  • Braid
  • Rockband Blitz
  • Super Meat Boy
  • 'Splosion Man
  • Limbo
  • Joe Danger
  • ilomili
  • Dungeon Defenders
  • Alien Hominid (expecially if you liked Castle Crashers!)

I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting, but all those are solid picks IMO:D

EDIT: sorry, forgot to check if you already had these:whistle2:(

After looking at your achievement list to see what you haven't played yet, I'll toss in my suggestions for demos to look into:
Catan
Quantum Conundrum
Trine 2
SVC: ToeJam & Earl
Quarrel
Peggle
Final Fight: DblImpact
Xmen
Pac-Man CE DX (seconded)
I'm curious if on-disc Arcade games will count towards the 20 hours. Like Doom 1 and 2 on the Doom 3 BFG disc or the Trials/Limbo/Splosionman disc.
If it shows up in your activity as an XLBA game, I think it's safe to assume it counts.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have most, but not all, of the suggestions. Enough that I don't have to hit the 4 purchases mark. Hopefully 3200 at the same time.
Damn. All the XBLA games I'd be interested in are 1200. I'd do 800 for all of them but 1200 is too much.
Maybe they'll be on sale this month...

At least that's what I'm hoping.
I tweeted Xbox Live Rewards to see if DLC purchases count as Microsoft Points spent "on Arcade games."

Will post back when I get a response.
They already said no.

Would be interesting if they say something otherwise on Twitter. Going to purchase the Plants vs. Zombies Pinball FX2 table this week from the Microsoft Studios sale and just wait to see if it shows up toward the 3,200. Though, since Pinball FX2 is a bit different from other XBLA stuff, being a free hub with purchasable tables, it may count differently than other DLC toward the punchcard. Also curious to see how things work out for anyone that bought the Walking Dead on 4/1 from the Spring Sale, since episodes 2-5 count as DLC to episode 1's "game".

It's still spending microsoft points on arcade games...they should clarify that in the FAQ.

Oh well :(

MyPunchcard seems like it will be a reward that happens every month. Similar to MySurvey and MyAchievements. DLC doesn't count this month, but it's possible dlc will get it's own month. I doubt every month will be XBLA games. The activities might change between things like dlc, tv, movies, and avatar items.

I don't think The Walking Dead will count. Episodes two through five are considered dlc, so they are already ruled out. Episode one is considered a game, but since it was free it was neither 400+ MSP or any amount of MSP to add towards 3200 MSP. Though it will at least count towards your hours played.

That would be a good move on microsoft. They aren't losing anything, as it's all digital (potential sales, yeah yeah, whatever), and are getting people to buy more XBLA games, which can also cause their friends to buy them, and on and on. I for one have more than enough XBLA games on my wishlist to keep this going for quite some time;)

I bought 2 arcade games but only got 2 punches. They were 2 800 point games so I thought I would qualify for two punches in both the 1 month gold category and the 800 points category.

I was about to ask about this. I haven't bought anything yet, but there are a few things I have been keeping my eye on buying. So 800+ purchases dont count on both punch cards? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

The way I interpreted it is that you have to buy four 800msp games to get 800msp back - it can't be any total for 3200 and you'll get the kickback. Strider, when you bought the 800msp games, did the punches show up immediately/on the same day?
Does it count as a punch if you pay 800 for a game that's on sale (such as down from 1200)?
Why wouldn't it?

The punches showed up after 2 days on my end.

We should make a simple list of all eligible arcade games for the punchcard promotion

Collect Games, Get Gold
- Buy 4 XBLA games worth 400 or more. Win 1 month XBL
- Eligible games:

Spend More, Get More
- Buy 4 XBLA games worth 800 or more. Win 800 MSP
- Eligible games:

Eat. Sleep. Game.
- Play 4 or more games for 5 hours each with 20 hours total. Win an avatar item
- Eligible games:

What do you think? We should also include it in the OP so people won't have to keep asking for which games are eligible

No need for lists. A list of XBLA games that cost less than 400 MSP would probably be much shorter than the ones that cost 400 MSP or more. And the eligible games for the Eat. Sleep. Game. section should be every title with an "Arcade" banner on the box art image on xbox.com.

The Spend More, Get More section doesn't require games costing 800 MSP or up. You just get a punch when you've spent 800 MSP total, and then 1,600, 2,400 and 3,200.

Loving the sales right now. Grabbed Serious Sam 3 for 800, Mark of the Ninja for 600 and Battleblock Theater (not on sale) for 1200. I just need a 600 point game (probably will be Retro City Rampage for 600. Already have it on PSN but... ACHIEVEMENTS!) and I'll be set on all 3 cards.

Really interested in Battleblock Theatre as I am a huge fan of Behemoth. (Played everything they have released so far, including their stuff back in the day on NewGrounds).

I played the beta and found it enjoyable. I doubt I'll enjoy it as much as I did Castle Crashers but it will still be fun. If you get it, I'll see you online.

There's a Double Dragon II remake coming out tomorrow for 1200 points so that would take a chunk out of the 3200.
