Might want to change the title of the thread to something like, "I got a 360 core for $50", b/c it's kind of misleading, it sounds like you have one for sale at that price since the bragging forum is included in the tradelists.

The link is for a current auction. Where is the link to your auction? $50 is a great deal but unsure where you bought it from. Possible scam since its coming from Romania.

Western Union Money Transfer + "Holding" or Foreign Country or Any Sort of Proxy (ie: eBay "Agent") = DO NOT SEND.

Seriously, slow down for a moment. There's a good 90% chance that you're going to get rooked. Be careful, now.

Romania... Western Union... I don't think you will be showing any un-boxing for that system. I think you better make a video of the money being sent. Then a month worth of you waiting for the console to arrive.

mine was better, i got a premium no hardrive for 30$
My friend gave it to me broke( i was going to try to fix it), a few weeks later the 3 year warranty comes into life and i get a new console(and no it wasn't refurbished) I bought the hard drive + wireless controller for 60$ then got a free wireless controller from gaming lagoon.

Change the title to "I scored an Xbox 360 on Ebay for $50.00 and it's a Scam and i'm to stupid to realize it!"

I'll won't be waiting for the pics and video since you'll never see this 360 ;)

rule #1- always be wary of completing Ebay 'deals' outside of Ebay. If you get scammed, you're completely SOL since Ebay has no record of your dealings. (Which also means ratings mean nothing- you can't neg someone if Ebay doesn't know you bought anything.)

rule #2- always be wary of foreign sellers with expensive items- especially weird locations like Romania (as opposed to, say, Japan.) Think about it- why would you trust Romanian electronics.

Not only have you ingored those 2 rules, you paid via money order- AKA the Untraceable Uninsured Easily Steal-able Payment.

Methinks you're out $50. Be more careful next time- things can be too good to be true.

nah dident send the money but im going to its just $50 .im not stupid like i said ..lol im still going to try if its a scam on well but no harm in seeing is there now lol

What the fuck are you guys talking about?
You can't FAKE ebay feedback. The person clearly has positive reviews.

I understand being cynical is hip, but I figured it's only useful when you don't ignore reality and statistics.

as was said if the transaction finishes outside of ebay no feedback can be left

this is clearly a scam

Like I said, I'm sure the guy's been super- for actual buyers-through-Ebay. Who knows how many people's he's screwed with outside the system "deals" no one can complain about because they went outside the system?

OP, if you're smart, you'll keep your money. I really, really doubt you'll get anything out of it.

I didn't read the details of what he bought. I just assumed that having such a great feedback would be proof of legitimacy on it's own, but apparently you guys are use to foreign scams - something I had no knowledge on.

Let's just wait and see how it unfolds for him. 50 bucks could be legit, I mean, look at all the kids that sell their broken or banned ones for 30 on craiglist. Not to mention they want an actual console that wont break, so they're saving up whatever they can for the falcon chips.
=D!

Idea: Anyone remember that one guy who was trying to sell his Apple G4 notebook, and had some scammer try to buy it (scamming)? He found out, notified some forum, and they all pranked the scammer.

Creatively, find a way to scam the scammer.

also that ebay invoice i got i found out he spoofed the ebay email address
lots of bad grammer errors in the ebay invoice

yay so know he knows my name and got my address

ill be expected to be robbed soon
:p
FACT: eBay rules FORBID using Western Union or Moneygram to pay for items online! Don't fall for spoof emails!
I love the eBay policies that dictate how you may or may not spend your money. I know it's for safety yada yadda, but it makes no sense when you think about it.

"Outside-of-eBay transactions are against eBay policy, and they are not covered by eBay services such as feedback and eBay purchase protection programs."

Does this mean I violate eBay policy whenever I go to the store to buy milk and bread? And God help me if I pay for the milk with Western Union.

No it means they're covering themselves for the dumbfucks out there who would try to sue Ebay, when shit goes wrong for any outside "second chance" transactions etc
No it means they're covering themselves for the dumbfucks out there who would try to sue Ebay, when shit goes wrong for any outside "second chance" transactions etc
That and they want to take more of your money by "forcing" you to use Paypal.

Since when do noobs get to create threads when they only registered 5 days ago? I thought there was a moratorium for new members.

just for clarification, Ebay doesn't "forbid" rather advises against WU and Cash

Cash - eBay does not recommend cash or cash wire transfers as a payment method. The lack of transaction protections, and traceability represent major risks with little to no remedy for transaction problems (see Sending Payments: Benefits and Risks).
They just cant use a sig or post in the trade forum for 30 days
Thanks. Doesn't that include the deals forum as well? I would have sworn they couldn't create any threads for 30 days.

oohh, i just beat ya by $5. i bought a complete premium from a guy for $85 (he wanted 100, but i talked him down), so now i've got a 360 in the living room and bedroom. having two consoles borders on pointless, but for such a low price, i couldn't help myself, and now i can play Geometry Wars from the comfort of my bed. having it kicking around for LAN'd co-op is nice too. :)
