Wait this game has no trophy support?

Do any PS1 games on PSN have trophy support? I don't know what the big deal is about trophies. I play games to enjoy them and beat them. I'd go mental trying to get platinum in every game as some of the trophies are insane/ridiculous. Xenogears is a game that is worth playing(maybe over again). Just remember that it will take some time but there is never a dull moment story wise. Combat system was and still is IMO a good one.

Yeah, same here. I had it in my cart and I realized it was $10 for a PS1 game and decided to pass until it's on sale. I never played the game, but I'm really curious about it, so I definitely want to pick it up at some point.

I lent the game to a friend about 10 years ago, along with FFIX, and the Final Fantasy Collection that had Chrono Trigger Remake. Suffice to say, said friend moved to Cali and I lost 3 precious games.

Lol, on sale, check the other Squeenix games, they've NEVER been on sale. (the PS1 games)
 
Aren't some of them 5.99? Unless I was seriously tired and the 9 morphed into a 5 lol. $10 isn't bad, but I'd much rather pick up a few more PS2 games before they become scarce.

So has anyone played the PSN version yet? Does it hold up to your memory of it?

And whats so wrong with trophies? Its just another reason to try new things in games and/or prolong your play time so you might get more bang for you buck.
 
Nothing is wrong with Trophies. I just find it amusing that people don't want to bother playing something because it doesn't "support" trophies. Some people like to trophy hunt and 100% complete games even if its mindless, I like to finish my games and so long as the 100% trophy doesn't alter the game in any way I don't bother with it.
 
Anyway to enable the use of analog sticks in the PSN version? Yeah yeah, I know, sacrilege, but the PS3 DPAD makes my hand cramp after using it for awhile.

It's more-so people not wanting to play a game because it doesn't have trophies is what the problem is.

But to each their own. Trophies are just that important to some people.

Yes, you can configure the ds3 any way you like including using the analog sticks for any ps1 classic game.

Sorry if looking at my save game file isn't good enough for me. This isn't 1997 anymore.

Half the people that buy this game are just going to let it sit there for like 2 years and never touch it. Or play it for 5 hours and give up because they have other PS3 games to play. It's true. Think about it.

I had my glory days of the PSX like eveyone else. Excuse me for wanting to show proof of my hard work nowadays.

This is the internet, I doubt many people really take anyone seriously. I know I don't. When I commented about "whats wrong with trophies?" I knew I was going to get comments like what I got. Clearly I knew nothing is "wrong" with them. And hey, if you only want to play trophy games, go for it and dont worry about what interweb types say. I doubt they care what you say too. Its all fun and games.

I've heard a lot of this game and wanna play it, but I REFUSE to spend $10 on a digital PS1 game. There's plenty of great PS1 games for $6, I'm annoyed that all these popular RPGs get the $10 tag. They don't do it cause the games are long or multiple discs, they do it cause they know the saps will buy it at that price. Fricken FFVII is a $10 ps1 game and it is the most downloaded of them. Someone got on my ass on twitter for voicing disapprovement on the $10 pricing. People are blinded by nostalgia, and the publishers know it.

I wouldn't even pay $10 for the Megaman Legends games on PSN, and I LOVE THEM. Half-off sale for $4.99 or no buy, and until the masses start following that lead we are never going to get universal $6 PS1 games.

You're going to be waiting a while then, Xenogears is pretty iconic. It spanned 3 discs and it was all content, not CGI filled like FF7. Well worth $10 and if you think it's going to drop in price, you're out your bird. It easily has the potential to sell just as much as FF7, if not more. You have a better shot of getting Black Label FF7 than Xenogears, if that's any consideration.

I can understand the trophy comment since they don't really matter, but $4? That's more like saying "fuck you square, price it normally" then being a "kids these days".

I'll wait for a deal on it personally, since I still have my semi-mint black label copy.

It's not about the $5. It's about Square starting to add the square enix tax to DLC items now, and if you buy the game now you support it and they'll do it more often.

You damn right I'm supporting them right now, especially for a game like Xenogears. I respect your opinion, even though I don't really understand it but my opinion is that this game is worth the asking price of $10.

Not sure what kind of message you think you'll be sending if you wait to buy it at half price, assuming it goes on sale, but I don't think it holds the weight you think it does. In addition, I don't believe your stance is backed up by any meaningful reasons and appears to be just you being a "cheap ass gamer".

I dont want to play Xenogears again because I dont feel like paying $10 for this old game. However, I might pay $10 for some other old games. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has got one. So go play what you like and stop telling everyone what to do. That goes to everyone bitching about trophies being stupid and to GT for thinking they matter to anyone else. :)
 
I dunno why my opinion on the matter is controversial. I just think all PSone Classics should be $5.99 regardless of their length or how rare their physical copies are cause those two factors have nothing to do with selling a digital game for $4 more.
