XFX nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT Video Card, 128MB GDDR3, 128-Bit, Dual DVI, AGP 8X, Model "PVT43ANDFB" OEM (bulk)

There is sales tax for certain states (CA, and others I forgot). It doesn't include any games (the normal package has Commandos 3 and X2). The thing with newegg.com is the shipping charges tend to fluctuate, so it could go up the next day or something (I don't mean to push you to buy now :? )

I also picked up a 256MB Compact Flash memory card (KINGSTON 256MB COMPACT FLASH MEMORY CARD Model CF/256 ) for 18.50, which has a $10 mail in rebate that expires on the 28th of February. $8.50 ain't bad eh?

Hope these help others...

Not a bad deal (it IS an insanely good card), but not much cheaper than normal (especially considering the full retail package isn't much more and comes with games). Just wish there were some decent deals for the PCI-E versions.

This coming week in BB ad, 249-20rebate-30rebate=199, one of the rebates is instant, the other is not. It's a PNY packaged card, a red box.

thank you for reassuring me! :D I had read this, and that the difference is hard to tell, but hearing it again doesn't hurt! My processor is only 1.8ghz (I got 768mb ddr pc 2100 ram tho), so i hope that doesnt bottleneck the card too much...either way, it's a step up from the geforce 2 i've had since getting this computer 2 years ago!

Bah, it just HAS to be the AGP card and not the PCI-E, doesn't it? Hmm, I DO have a 10% off coupon as well...maybe I should just forget the whole PCI-E thing and take the plunge.

Just to chime in; I got this card last month when I built my new PC. AGP version, which was more expensive than PCI-E and harder to find.

At any rate, the 6600 kicks ass. You're getting a great card for that price. The boxed version I got came with Far Cry and some other stuff like Nascar Something or Other. Unless you REALLY want that bundled software, you wouldn't miss it at all.
Matarick: most of the cards come with DVI-VGA adapters
DOH! This one DOES NOT. I dunno if it's because it's the bulk version, so it's barebones or what, but I had no clue about DVI/VGA. I was like a monkey with a rock, looking at the new DVI slot in the gfx card, and my monitor's VGA plug, and trying to fit em in somehow for a couple seconds...

So yeah, anyone know of a cheap VGA to DVI cable? I'm assuming the DVI will only be Analogue, meaning it won't have all the pins in it? Cause I did a quick search on amazon, and saw one that's DVI-A, with not all 15 pins in the DVI plug. Maaaan, I shoulda just paid an extra $20 for the Leadtek or some other brand that has VGA (most others have VGA now that I checked). Would Best Buy have any? What about Circuit City?Cause Fry's is a bit of a drive for me...

So in conclusion: DON'T BE AN IGNORANT ASS LIKE ME! (You can be cheap like me, just know what you're buying...).

EDIT: Nevermind on the converter, I think I found one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3697&item=5167532898&rd=1
Is there a reason this is so cheap?... :?
