Xmas: I got a leaf blower; she gets a vacuum cleaner and is pissed

hell, better yet.. ask her if you should return the vacuum for some real sexy nighty.. when she says something like "oh I would look horrible in that being fat and pregnant" say "no..I meant for the maid! ..afterall thats who the vacuum was meant for woman! The real gift was the maid! and you blow up about the vacuum..and I get a leaf blower after doing all the work to get you impregnated..THATS what I get for MY efforts around here.." (then proceed to hang it on the wall where a TV would hang like on that commercial.) See what she has to say then. 1. After she stops initially being upset that you said that she will calm down.. afterall she has your kid...another thing is she will rethink her gifts for all of the future and get you good stuff instead of work stuff ..and you switched it all around and now she is the one that was wrong. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT is she will realize that though you are a nice guy 99% of the time she may not know you 100%..that puts you as a little mysterious and will add spice to the bedroom.. haha yes I am evil..but I am good at it (and also married for 9 years and experienced in such things haha)
Funny how no one thinks the leaf blower was a bad gift. She's not pissed pissed at me - she was just WTF? pissed at me in a kind of laughing like "I can't believe you thought this was a good idea" sort of way. She's pretty cool, actually and isn't a girl who needs gifts all the time or anything. In fact, we only do gifts on brthdays and Christmas so I'm off the hook for 10 more months!
Leaf Blower is not a bad idea. I got my dad a power washer and kit last year and he loved it. Guys are different.

And the pregnant thing> I work at the same office as my sister. When she was pregnant a while back she was super bitch for the last 5 months of the pregnancy. Meanest beast I've ever seen. But this situation does not sound much like a pregnant thing. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Every gift sends a message. Apparently, these were the ones being sent:

Javeryh's wife: "Blow me."
Javeryh: "You suck."

My girlfriend actually asked for one of those swiffer mop things for Christmas, but I refrained from getting one. Just didn't seem like a good present.

I'm from the factory, manual work driven midwest. Getting free tools is awesome...here at least.

I get tools(screwdrivers and stuff like that) every gift giving time of the year.
Let's just say I'm not much of a handyman. I use the stuff on computer repair and little household stuff though so it's nice to have.

Pretty much anything that is able to be used by both partners is usually a bad idea. For example a toaster. You are both going to use it so it's not a good idea to go with that for a present. Tools on the other hand are mostly(not all) the time used by guys so they are considered all right for a present.
