Just wondering if anyone was interested in participating in a yahoo fantasy baseball league. As of now we only have 3 teams and I'm hoping for at least 10-12 teams. It's head-to-head with defauly 5x5 scoring. We have a live draft scheduled for March 8th at 5:45 pm EST, so I'm hoping to have enough teams by then to make it happen.

League ID: 142686

PM me if you have any questions. Thanks!

Edit: Looks like Yahoo added more available time slots so I tentatively set the league draft date and time to Sunday, March 13th at 4:30 pm EST. Hopefully this will be more convenient for potential managers.

Six more teams needed... live draft scheduled for Sunday March 13th at 4:30 pm EST. Anyone interested?

bump for the evening.

BTW, I'm a great commish (if that means anything), I like to encourage keeping things active in leagues that I participate in with weekly power rankings and analysis (when I can spare the time) and stuff like that, and if people want we can make it more interesting as a longterm keeper league or something along those lines.

I'd love to join but I don't have time for another live draft. (wife would kill me)

If you or anyone end up having a Yahoo auto-draft league, count me in though.

Damn, I'm going to have to miss the draft. Hopefully I can come out with a little something nonetheless if I set it up well beforehand. That's going to be a lot of work. So much for midterms.

I'm willing to change the time a little if there aren't any objections, we can negotiate that on the league message board.

Also still looking for managers! 5 spots left.
Any prizes planned?

I'd be willing to kick something in.
Best Record at All star break? another at World Series.
I was sort of thinking about that, like chipping in a few extra penny guides or a left over TRU game or somthing along those lines. I'm up for it if others are.

Signed up. DodgerBlue going to kick some ass a live draft sunday sounds good i have work all day saturday.

If you don't mind m1lesteg, the weekend seems to work the best for everyone else involved so I'm inclined to keep it that way but we would still welcome your participation.

I'll be out of town this weekend, so I wont be able to do the live draft. I hope I get some decent players. You guys be nice and save me jose canseco.

It's cool. Will the game automatically draft for me, or do I need to have a list set up?

Yahoo has default rankings which are actually not too bad. However I would definitely take the time to set your own rankings though for at least the first 4 rounds.

Also still need at least 4 more managers. I would like to make this a CAG only league.

I'm afraid I will be going the route of RandyTsai myself.
(just signed up/10th and final team correct?)

I'll try to update my draft list later tonight.

I just hope it doesn't slow down your live draft with a couple auto-drafters in the mix.

Should be fun guys...

Hi all, just wondering if people in the league would prefer moving the draft time back a couple hours? Would that allow more people to make the draft, maybe if it was at 5:30 or 6:30 pm EST?

Makes no difference on my end.

I'll be out at the school studying for my mid-term I have on Monday morning.

I just finished setting up my pre-draft list. Most of Yahoos picks were right on, but there were also some that were a bit too high IMO.

Those who use Yahoo's Draft List for auto drafting should be okay, I just hope it doesn't slow it down too much for you guys.

I know in ESPN live draft, you have to wait the entire 2 minutes initially before the "Auto-Pilot" takes over.

The draft IS half the fun and you guys have waited this long to get started.

Good drafting! (Queen City Dragons)

Draft went pretty quick, with only two of us present.

It was hard to outguess people, when there was nobody there.

Good luck all.

I ended up with 9 pitchers. Can someone let me know if that is too much? Also whats better having more sp or rp. This is my first fantasy baseball league, so I have no clue how most of this work.

It's going to be really hard to root for ARod, I tell you what. How is your place on waivers determined? I'm last, but I have no idea why or how I got there.

It is all based on where you drafted. You had the first pick in the draft if you are last in waiver priorirties.

I'm happy with my team. Can't go wrong with having Beltran, Wells and Berkman as your starting OF.

As for your pitchers, watch your Games Started because some leagues have a set number. I need to read our rule book to see how this league is set up exactly.

For example, at ESPN you can only have 180 games started in one season. Relief and middle relief appearances obviously don't count against that number.

It is usually a good idea to keep at least 5-6 starting pitchers and the rest be closers/middle relief.

I have 10 pitchers on my team (in this league) and will probably hang onto them until I think I need to trade for something I need. (like stolen bases or more saves)

You can keep your best SPs in the "SP" slot, but rotate between middle relief and your second tier SPs in the "P" slots.

When one of your starting pitchers is in the P slot and pitched yesterday, it becomes a wasted slot in your lineup. Middle Relief can be very important in helping (and hurting) your ERA.

More importantly, they help with your SO totals.

For your second tier SPs, pick your matchups wisely, but never, never sit your ace pitchers.
(you'll get the hang of it after the first month or so)

This way, you don't have a guy like Bronson Arroyo going up against that all star like Yankee lineup.

For those new, I may as well let you in on one of the best free sites around. (There are popups for those non Firefox users out there)
